Arely's POV

5 months later...

Faith convinced me to let her do my gender reveal....

And her dumbass decided to wait until I'm weeks out from my due date to throw the party. I swear, I know Faith has great intentions with everything she does for me but sometimes my girl is a little slow...

But she's still my girl.

Landon got a job driving a forklift at a warehouse. He's been doing really good here lately taking his medicine on time and going to his appointments all while maintaining a 12-hour job and keeping up with bills for a nice ass two bedroom house. I swear I cannot wait until this baby is out of me so I can help contribute too.

"Baby" Landon called out.

I got off the bed and greeted him at the front door.

"We missed you" I smiled giving him a kiss.

"I missed my babies more" he kissed me then my baby bump.

"What's for dinner?" He asked me.

"Well, I was thinking we could go out... maybe. The gender reveal is tomorrow and I don't want to have any dishes in the sink but..."

"You know that made absolutely no sense right?" He smiled at me.

"..."

"If you want to go out to eat just say that baby" he laughed as he took me into a hug.

"I didn't want to seem fat" I frowned.

"Baby... come on now, I know you're feeding two. You're not fat, you literally have to eat enough food for nutrients for you and our baby and I want a healthy baby so I say eat all you want"

"Okay" I giggled.

"I'm gonna go take a shower then we'll go, okay?"

I nodded my head as he set his work bag down on the floor next to the front door. While he was in the shower I got dressed and fixed my hair up. It didn't take him long and when he came out he was smelling good as fuck reminding me of that being the reason why we're about to have our first born.

I caught myself smiling thinking about all of the good memories we've shared together.

"What are you smiling for?" Landon smiled at me.

"All of the good times we've had baby." I told him.

"... And there are many more to come"

We eventually left after deciding Mexican food was what we both had a taste for. The traffic was light which was good because I was hungry borderline hangry. Once we got there, we were seated pretty fast and our order was taken within 10 minute being there.

"So what do you think it's going to be?" Landon asked me.

"A girl" she stated confidently.

"Damn, you still hoping for a girl huh?"

"Hell yeah, I really want a girl."

"Well you already know I want a boy" he threw his hands up.

"If we have a boy he's going to be getting into fights all the time"

"We run that same risk with a girl too..." he defended.

"Touché" I gave in.

Before we could continue our conversation, our food arrived and I got happy. This baby had definitely changed the way I see food because ever since I got pregnant I've been eating like there's no tomorrow.

I was so hungry, I had to remind myself to breathe at times.

"Is your food okay?" Landon asked.

"Mhmm, great. Yours?"

"Yeah, it's good"

We finished eating and got some dessert to take home before paying and leaving out.

"What time do you want to wake up in the morning?" I asked Landon.

"What time did she say it's starting?"

"Umm," I scrolled through my messages with Faith. "She said 10:30."

"Okay... I'll probably be up by 8 like always. I'll get ready then I'll wake you up"

I smiled as he continued to focus on the road. I began to think about how our lives are going to change once our baby comes around. I'm excited, but at the same time I'm scared because I have absolutely no clue what to expect. I hope like hell that I'm a good mother to my kids.

"Do you think I'll be a good mom?" I asked Landon.

"What type of question is that?" He responded.

"I don't know, I just feel like I'm going to do something wrong."

"My mom always told me that parents aren't perfect. We can only do the best we can to guide our child in the right direction, everything else will be up to them."

"Are you ready to be a dad?" I asked.

"I'm excited... I've always told myself I'd be a good dad since the day I found out my dad was cheating on my mom. I don't want my kids to have to go through the same pain I did and the same pain you did"

"I promise that won't happen" I reassured him.

"I love you" he said.

"I love you more"

We arrived home and settled down pretty quickly. I know Landon was tired, so he laid down next to me wrapping his arms around me.

"Tomorrow we'll know the gender, babe. I'm excited" I smiled running my fingers through his curly hair.

"Mhmm, me too" he replied in a relaxed tone.

"I'm happy in general. I'm with the man I love, I'm about to have our child... I couldn't ask for anything else"

"Me either..." he was dozing off.

"I know you're tired, you can sleep babe. I love you"

By that point, he could only reply by lifting his eyebrows a little bit. I quickly took my phone and snapped a quick picture to remember this moment.

With his choice of career, I'm not sure how much time I will have with him one on one in the future so for right now I'm going to cherish every second I get...
