"Are you sure you want to put these in the nursery?" Gabriel asked as he climbed up the step ladder and took the plastic glow in the dark stars off of their bedroom ceiling. Eden nodded as she watched, rubbing her swollen belly . "Yes. I want our babies to see the stars before they fall asleep. Besides," Eden grinned. "I prefer to look at you anyways."Gabriel blushed as he peeled the last glow star from the ceiling. Gabriel gazed at the pale yellow stars as he scooped them up and climbed back down the ladder.
They took him back to that night, when he and Eden agreed to spend time together at St. James Park. It was the first time Gabriel had seen Eden's wings and they were still the most beautiful wings in the entire world. Eden hadn’t dressed properly for the weather and he wrapped his coat and scarf around her and then they had eaten Chinese food and once they finished their meal, Eden pointed to the stars in the night sky and told him each star by name.
A single word, or to be more accurate, a name, popped into his head. "Polaris." Gabriel said as he approached Eden. The Archangel set down the glow stars on the bed and he placed a hand on Eden's belly. "Polaris."
Eden cocked her head. "What do you mean Gabriel?"
"That night, at St. James….when you showed me the stars and told me about them?"
"And the constellations." Eden reminded. Gabriel nodded. "Those too. But there was one that struck me. Polaris. I want to name our other son that."
"Really?" Eden rasped as tears stung her eyes.
Gabriel nodded as his own eyes filled with tears. "To always remind me that this is where I belong. My home."
"Because if you ever lose your way, just follow Polaris, and you'll find your way home again." Eden added tearfully.
"With my Eden, little Mercury, Polaris, and our mystery baby." Gabriel rasped as tears fell.
"Polaris." Eden murmured. "I love it." Eden wrapped her arms around her husband who melted into her warm embrace.
"What about a middle name beloved?" Eden asked softly. Gabriel thought for a moment then said, "Centauri."
"Centauri?"
"Centauri." Gabriel confirmed. "For the two stars that were mistaken for one."
"Polaris Centauri Archer." Eden rasped. "That's perfect."
"You mean ineffable." Gabriel corrected.
