Archangel Gabriel blinked awake and yawned. He glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table. It was eight thirty in the morning. Perhaps sleeping in a bit longer wouldn't hurt….

Gabriel turned to face Eden and gasped in shock at the sight of his wife.

Eden was drenched in sweat and shivering despite being tucked under a thick blanket.

"Eden? Eden!" Gabriel gently touched her cheek. He flinched at the heat that radiated from her skin. She was burning up.

"Eden wake up!"

"Hmmh." Eden grunted. "What's going on?" Eden opened her serpentine eyes revealing that they were glazed with fever.

"Eden, you've got a fever!" Gabriel hopped out of bed and was at Eden's side.

"This isn't possible….we aren't supposed to get sick!" Gabriel bit his lip as Eden replied, "I'm not sick Gabe….and I did get sick once…"

Gabriel ignored the last part. "I need to call your parents…..they need to know about this."

Eden forced herself to sit up. "No, they don't need to know."

"Eden, lie back down. I'll get you a cold compress before I call your parents." Ignoring Eden's protests, Gabriel rushed to the bathroom and grabbed a washcloth and when he began to soak it in cold water in the sink, he suddenly heard the sound of vomiting coming from the bedroom….

"Eden!" Gabriel dashed back into the bedroom and found Eden on the floor,  huddled over the trash bin, vomiting violently.

"Oh my god!" Gabriel knelt at Eden's side when Eden weakly lifted her head.

"Call my parents." Eden rasped.
