Crowley had received Aziraphale's phone call and promptly forgot all about lunch. His grandchildren were finally on their way.Crowley drove back to the bookshop and when he arrived, he couldn't enter the shop fast enough.
"QUEENIE!" DADDY'S HERE!"
Crowley dashed to the backroom and that's where he found his poor daughter, her face contorted with pain.
"Queenie!" Crowley knelt at Eden's side. "It's going to be okay sweetheart, I'm here now."
"Daddy." Eden whimpered. "Daddy it hurts...." Crowley saw Gabriel tense. "Gabriel, cast a ward to soothe her pain."
"Right. Of course. I'm sorry Edie." Gabriel placed a hand on Eden's lower back and instantly, Eden sighed with relief. "Oh thank God."
"Eden, you're at ten centimeters now. Do you want to be in a different position?"
Eden thought for a moment. "Can you move me to the floor?" she rasped. "I would like to have some more room to move around a bit and it'll be easier for Gabriel to hold me."
Once Eden was settled on the floor, made comfortable with the help of several blankets and Gabriel propping her up, Crowley miracled a cold compress and gave it to Gabriel who immediately mopped Eden's sweaty brow.
"Crowley, the towels are all ready. I just need you to fill the wash basin with warm water." Crowley snapped his fingers and his husband's request was fulfilled.
"I called Bella." Crowley said as he clasped Eden's hand. He smiled encouragingly when she squeezed it tightly. "She'll be here as soon as she can."
"Papa....." Eden whimpered as another pain tore through her. This pain was much worse than the others before it.
"I know love. That pain means you're ready to start pushing. When the next contraction comes, I need you to push as hard as you can until I tell you to stop to rest, okay?" Eden managed a weak nod as she squeezed both Crowley and Gabriel's hands. "Gabriel, you make sure that she keeps breathing. And stay calm. Both of you."
"Right. Calm." Gabriel replied. "I'm already calm. Very calm. Super calm. Calm as a cucumber.....even though my wife is in excruciating pain and I can't do anything about it! Yep, calm, that's me!" The Archangel was clearly not calm and was mere seconds away from having a full on panic attack.
"I'll help them with that angel." Crowley said, his voice cracking with emotion as Aziraphale nodded. "Good. But be ready to help me with the little ones when they arrive Crowley-" The angel was interrupted by a sudden moan and grunt from Eden. "Fffffuuucck." Eden was clearly pushing and Aziraphale instantly began to count down the seconds just like in the books that Gabriel had read in preparation for this moment.
It took all of Archangel Gabriel's self control to not faint.
