Hi guys! How're we all doing? Important info in the author's note🤗. Enjoy!

Epilogue

In all the months of knowing Caleb Brown, I had never seen him like this. Crystal was right. He looked distraught. I didn't realize Natalie had this much power over him. Oh, who am I kidding? The only time I saw Caleb light-hearted and with a genuine smile during the Christmas break on the island was whenever he spoke with Natalie. They had such strong connection and understanding with each other. That made me frown. It was obvious it was his choice to be a mean person.

Yet somehow, I felt bad for this mean person, who was sitting on the floor, his back against the pianist's seat as he cried into his arms. I should probably head away, I thought. Quietly, I retreated and shut the door.

However, I knew even I won't be settled with the idea of simply leaving. I sighed. What do I do, what do I do?

Finally, I knew what to do.

I pulled out my phone and texted Sam. Hopefully, it is lunch time in their school too. Within seconds, Sam responded.

Samuel Isaiah Elba 🕵️🥇👑:

Hey Sam! What's up?

Me:

Oh thank God! Caleb needs your help right now. He's going through something and he's currently not playing. I think you should call him.

Samuel Isaiah Elba 🕵️🥇👑:

What! I'd do that immediately. Thanks Sam!🙏❤️

Me:

You're welcome. And please don't tell him I was the one who told you, thank you. Just tell him the person prefers to be anonymous, which I do.

There was no reply so I guess he had dialed Caleb already. I pressed my ears to the door, trying to listen. I knew I probably wouldn't exactly hear anything but I just wanted to make sure a conversation was going on. Sure enough, I heard Caleb's muffled voice.

He definitely couldn't ignore Sam's call.

I straightened up and turned to leave. But as I turned, I found Charlotte staring at me. Right behind her was Carlos. I lifted an eyebrow.

"Hello and hi?" Charlotte tilted her head to observe me and so did Carlos. "What?" I asked, when they kept on staring, creepily.

"We're looking for Natalie. Is she in there?" Charlotte asked.

"No." I said. She nodded and turned. I was surprised. "Wow, and you believe me, just like that?" She halted and turned to face me.

"Are you lying?" She asked in an indecipherable tone.

"No." I said, looking straight into her beautiful green eyes.

"I didn't think so too." She said and turned away. Uh? What a snob!

"Caleb's in there, right?" Carlos said to me in a low whisper. I nodded. I noticed he was heading towards the door, so I stopped him.

"Let me leave first." I said. He pursed his lips in obvious annoyance but didn't say anything. I knew what he was annoyed about. The whole slavery issue and that was why I avoided his eyes as I spoke to him. I heard him sigh as I walked away. Why did he even care? It wasn't his business anyway. I frowned at that line of thought. Bad, Sam, bad!

"Hey, you over there!" I disposed off the waste from my lunch

"Sir." I responded, dusting crumbs off my hands.
