2- WHAT ON PLANET JUPITER GOES RIGHT ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL?!
I turned a left and finally found the reception. It was my fault. I had refused to download the school's map from their website to my phone before coming here. Well, I had not imagined it to be this big. I huffed as I walked in.
The receptionist was a fat woman with brown bob hair which barely rested on her shoulders. She had a line in between her forehead which suggested how often she frowned than smiled. Her pale brown eyes which hid behind thick rimmed glasses stared at me glumly. I cleared my throat.
"Good day ma'am." I greeted, offering a small smile. She stared at me, expressionlessly.
"Good day. You must be the new girl we're expecting to resume senior year?" She asked. I nodded, surprised she could tell.
"I'm Laura." She said and pointed to where her name was written on the desk. "What's your name again?"
"Samantha Pears." I replied. Laura nodded and began typing. She then walked over to the printer which had released some papers. She collected them and handed me three sheets.
"That's your schedule, locker code and number, and a map. Make sure you aren't late to your classes." She said. I nodded.
"Thank you, ma'am." I said before walking away. I glanced at my schedule. My first class was English. I then followed the map to find my locker.
~~~
I made my way to the back of the class and plopped down on a chair. It was two chairs to a desk. I rubbed my temple to calm myself. I was still angry at my father. I mean, I was doing just fine in BETH High school. I was still reminiscing on how happy and content I had been there when there was suddenly silence.
I did not know whether to groan or squirm when I looked up and saw the four notorious bullies saunter into the class. I had been nursing the fear of having some classes with them. I had hoped not but here they were. They suddenly halted, fixing their eyes on me. At that point, I almost squirmed.
They are really scary! I had planned to come to this school and successfully avoid these guys and the female bullies till graduation. But having the four of them staring at me right now made me feel trouble was not far behind.
"Hey, new girl." A redhead who sat few seats ahead on the next row whispered.
"You're not supposed to sit there. It's theirs." So that was why they were staring? Really?
"You can sit with me." She added. I gulped when I saw one of them narrow his green eyes into slits. They were probably getting angrier by the second. I quietly stood up and made my way to her seat.
"Thanks." I said, as I sat down. I watched as the four made their way to the back. I was suddenly angry. Pompous idiots! Feeling too big to politely inform me of my occupancy of their "territory".
"You're welcome." Redhead replied, pulling me out of my gaze.
"I'm Samantha, by the way. You can call me Sam." I said, offering a smile. She mirrored my expression.
"Nice to meet you, Sam. I'm Cecilia. You can call me Cece." Her brown eyes glistened in excitement.
"Nice to meet you, Cece." I said, just in time before a lady walked in. She was quite tall and had curly blonde her which was tied into a ponytail. She had slightly big eyeballs that accommodated intimidating brown eyes and her skin glowed. She was beautiful.
"Hello kids. I'm your substitute English teacher." This earned her groans from some of the students while others continued texting. "I'm Miss Clara Clark. People call me C.C. I'd like to know your names and I'd like y'all to put away your phones." She said, glaring at those who were texting. Some rolled their eyes but they all put away their phones.
We began introducing ourselves and it was then I got to know the names of the bullies well enough.
"Nice to meet you all. But I find deformities in your sitting arrangement." She said and chuckled when we all groaned. "Now, up you all!" Great!
Ten minutes later, I say a short prayer of thanksgiving for the Good Lord had answered my prayer, asking not to be paired with any of the four. The only problem was that one was put behind me. I glanced back at the black-haired boy who had given me away earlier on, whom I had now confirmed to be Andrew Baxter. I was glad that at least, out of the four, he was the one seated behind me. So, this class should not be much of a problem.
My eyes trailed off to where Caleb and Ryan were seated not far from each other. So, these were the most dangerous bullies, I mused. I could see the "danger" sign around them, especially Caleb who had a scar near his chin. But he still looked good.
Actually, the four of them are very handsome. Almost typical. Perhaps that was one reason why they were arrogant? They are also so tall.
Caleb Brown had dirty blonde hair and emerald eyes and Ryan Hamilton had curly brown hair and hazel eyes. I was not surprised to find the girls they were paired with gawking at them, even though they were visibly scared.
Ethan clearly was not happy to have been separated from his friends. I noticed his chocolate eyes had been dancing back and front to where his friends sat while he ran his fingers through his blonde hair. Cecilia looked scared but she still gawked. Poor girl!
I glanced at my seat partner and noticed he still had the sour look on his face which had appeared as soon as we had been paired together. I internally huffed. It was not like he was the only one upset to have been separated from their friends.
He had thick brown hair which stopped at his shoulders. I had caught a glimpse of his silver earring which was slightly hidden by his long hair. His green eyes were also beautiful. But not as Caleb's.
And why on earth was I comparing them?
The bell went off just as Miss Clara Clark walked out. I gathered my books immediately and headed to my locker.
Then something happened.
I punched my locker code but my locker still was not unlocked.
Wasn't it 3221? Or was it 3211?
"Shoot, shoot." I muttered as I lightly banged my head on my locker. I decided to try the two again but none worked. Then it dawned on me that I had forgotten my pin and for all the world's problems, the sheet which contained the code was inside my locker!
What on planet Jupiter goes right on the first day of school?!
"Well then, I guess I'd have to go without a note." I muttered as I walked to my History class. "Shoot."
I arrived my class and immediately knew I was late. I met an angry looking woman.
"Good day ma. I'm Sa..."
"She's Samantha Pears, class." The woman cut me. "Get yourself in." She said in an angry tone. I was taken aback by her behavior. Wanting to avoid everyone's stares as quickly as possible, I hurried to the back of the class and plopped down on a seat, without looking at who I sat with.
Let's just get this over with!
There were gasps from the students. I looked up to see them all staring at me with wide eyes, some with open mouths. So, I guessed it would have been because I sat with whoever I sat with. And sure enough, when I turned to look at the person, my eyes met those dangerously beautiful green eyes which belonged to no other than Caleb Brown.
