55- YOU'RE SAM, RIGHT?
After a hectic week of examinations, Shayne decided to host a tea party for his friends, at the Brown's mansions. The fact that Shayne is a cousin to the Brown children, but still feels free to host parties at the mansion says a lot about the welcoming nature of Mr and Mrs Brown. Well, they were almost never around. But still!
Shayne sure did have a lot of friends in school. But right now, only those he considered close friends, which basically includes the male bullies, my friends and me, were invited to this party. Brandon was invited too but since I hadn't exactly caught him in the act of bullying, I couldn't exactly classify him with the bullies. Although, he was an attacking midfielder in the soccer team and a certified jock, and since Lucas had once said he quit soccer because the soccer team consisted bullies, tyrants and a compromising coach, Brandon could even be a bully himself.
Crystal, however, wasn't available. It's not like she didn't want to come, even though most of the bullies still held grudges against her for what she did to Natalie, but she had an important outing with her parents. I was glad that at least she had gotten past that suicidal stage.
Yes, Crystal had contemplated suicide. Thank God for ordering our steps to her at the right time! I had been so shocked, it took a while for me to recover, myself. The realization of the fact that i could have lost her shook me beyond what I could bear. It was all it took for me to part with her that day. Even when I had arrived my house, I had Face timed her immediately, together with Lucas, Cecilia and Shayne whom we later informed about the incidence.
Shayne had immediately gone over to the Hart's house and he would have passed the night there if not for the fact that we didn't want Crystal's parents to know what would have happened in their house, while they were away. Still, we had all Face timed her until she had fallen asleep.
The most surprising thing was the way Crystal seemed to quickly get over her almost tragic moment. She had come to school the next day, feeling better. She had even smiled, laughed and made a joke or two, while the rest of us stared and tried to keep up with the mood. It was beyond awkward! She had eventually called us out though, letting us know that she didn't want to be treated like an egg, because that would break her the more. We had tried and failed on the first day, but for the later days of the week, everything gradually got back to normal.
As for Natalie's case, the junior eventually ratted on us when he was probed by Caleb. I didn't blame him, he could definitely never keep a secret from Caleb even if he tried. But that wasn't even a problem. I didn't have any problem with Caleb or anyone finding out. Basically, the entire bullies knew it was Crystal's doing, not only because of their fights and pranks, but because they had heard Alex confront Crystal and Crystal had confessed to Drew. We didn't let Andrew know about Crystal's ordeal though, only me and my friends knew.
Natalie had to stay away from school throughout the examination period because the nuts had left some bumps on her face. She, however, took her examination online. She had also demanded that Crystal be punished, but Principal Bennett was way ahead of her and thanks to the rattling junior, not only Crystal, but Cecilia and I as well, had gotten a good share of the punishment. We not only worked in the library during our free periods, we took our exams, away from everyone else, in a separate classroom, with grumpy teachers as invigilators.
I was not bothered because we did deserve it. It was really not a nice move from Crystal, but we had aided and abeted it. But what I was bothered about was the fact that after drilling the junior, Caleb had sent the junior to deliver his message to us.
"You might want to watch out."
Knowing literally not up to half of what Caleb could do, I knew that statement was a dangerous one. But at that moment, I felt tired and sick of all the threats and bullying. If he so much as touched the hair on my skin, I would make sure he got the punishment he deserved! I know what Crystal did was not cool but his girlfriend wasn't entirely innocent and he didn't seem to mind her evil deeds!
