breakdown and author's note

umm hi
i'm not really sure what to say here other than thank you. for all the support, for your understanding of why i wasnt posting, for being patient enough to wait for the next update, and just for reading what i came up with at 1 in the morning.

i had the entire plot all written out in my notes, but as time went on and i saw your feedback, i made a few changes. turns out i cannot go along the storylines i make without going off track or spending too much time on one topic. (ex. making karl seem like the main love interest) other than that, the fic was somewhat enjoyable for me, and i'm glad it was enjoyable for you readers.

now, for the explanation of what i wanted to happen originally:
alex and y/n are childhood friends. they meet karl, who's visiting from america, and the three become inseparable. karl's dad tells him a lie, so he wouldnt want to be friends with alex anymore.

karl leaves, and alex and y/n are confused. y/n overhears something they shouldn't have, and coincidentally, they have to leave too. they move, leading to the planned car accident.

their mother dies, and y/n is sent to live with a horrible foster family. y/n meets quackity, and they escape with his help. y/n then meets kaleb, their biological father. they ask to stay with kaleb, and in return kaleb asks y/n to join his gang.

y/n meets karl again, and the two become close. karl leaves alex out of their memories. alex and kaleb's gang get into an arguement, and it turns into another huge mini war.

y/n finds out about alex when doing research on the venoms. they try to stop the two clans from fighting, but later finds out the truth behind how they got to where they were. y/n tells karl about their plans, and he turns against them.

after convincing karl to help, they approach alex with their crazy ass plan to destroy their home clan. when preparing for the ultimate showdown, alex and karl both develop feelings for y/n, and it turns into a small rivalry.

when the first meetup happens, karl dies at the hands of kaleb, and his dad dies in the hands of alex. alex and y/n get away, but both are deeply affected by their friend's death.

alex and y/n would date a year after, still planning to take kaleb down. their plans go accordingly, until they get a strange call. it's kaleb, and he wants to fight them both.

just as kaleb is about to die, he escapes in a car. alex and y/n follow, and it leads them to a tall building. they chase kaleb all the way to the top, until finally, he jumps from the top before anyone could kill him. y/n is pained by it, because although he was a bad person, he was still their father.

alex and y/n would then disguise themselves, and have fake identities made for them. they escape the country and move as far as possible from where it all started. the ending is happy for them, but how would it be for everyone else?

that's basically how i imagined it LMAO
i had an alternative ending planned for this where karl x reader were endgame. basically a weird doctor would revive him and he'd come back. story continues as usual, but this time karl x reader are endgame.

my execution of this storyline was terrible in my opinion and some parts can be improved, but i'm extremely lazy and overall just not interested in streamers anymore :(

i'm leaving this here because i dont want you guys to feel confused as to what comes next after chapter 35. i've decided that this will be how i end the fic because i dont feel enough motivation to continue on and keep disappointing with the new chapters.

as of 10/21/2023, i am rewriting this fic! chapters may take a while to come out, but i promise it will be worth it. the revision will have more focus on the main story instead of everything else on the side like in this version. i first wrote this when i was a high school freshman, but i'm coming back to redeem myself as a senior. just so we're clear, i'm rewriting not because i still want to imagine myself in a romantic relationship with an online persona, but because it's something i enjoy. regardless, i hope you all are looking forward to a revision of dirty crime boy!
