tw; drunk driving, car accident

you lay there, eyes closed, hoping to pass some time by sleeping. whilst your mother was watching movies on the screen in front of her, a snack cart was coming around the plane.

your mother wakes you up, asking what snacks you wanted.

"pretzels, please." you ask in a sleepy tone.

the lady hands you a pack of pretzels, and a glass of water. your mother had peanuts, and a glass of water as well.

you munch on the salty snack, putting on a movie on your screen. the flight was going..pretty decent.

sure, there were a few babies that would scream occasionally, but you weren't too bothered. the flight was only going to be two hours.

-

your plane was about to land, and you stretched out your arms. a flight attendant handed you and your mom a warm towel, and you used it to refresh yourself.

the seatbelt sign went off, so you buckled up, ready for landing.

the plane takes out its wheels, and begins running on the asphalt of the airport runway. you feel the impact of the road beneath your feet, giving you a rush of excitement.

the plane comes to a full stop, and you notice passengers beginning to take their bags. you and your mother do the same, and start heading out to the airport.

"we're finally here, y/n!" your mother says in a joyful tone.

   "yeah, we are." you respond.

"oh, cheer up! i'll get you some cool things for your room!" you mother says, trying to bring the spirit back into moving.

"thanks. i'm kinda hungry, though. can we get some food?" you ask her.

"sure, we'll stop by mcdonalds later." she says.

you two make your way to baggage claim and get your bags. once everything is sorted out, you make your way outside to stop a taxi.

a taxi pulls up, and you and you get in. your mother puts all the bags in the trunk, then gets in the front seat.

she notices that the taxi driver had a can of beer in the cup holder. concerned, she talks to the man.

"sir, are you sure you should be drinking right now?" she asks.

"nah, don't worry, i'm very tolerant." he responds, no concern in his voice.

she says nothing, and gives the man the address of your new house. he starts driving, turning on the radio.

you ask your mom to play some games on her phone, and she lets you. you open up a random game you downloaded before, and started playing.

15 minutes into the drive, your driver was starting to get a little tipsy. his eyes were growing heavier and heavier, and his hands were losing their grip on the steering wheel.

"sir, are you okay?" your mom asks him.

"don't worry, i'm feeling normal." he slurred.

your mom's panic grew larger, while you distracted yourself with the game you were playing.

eventually, you were approaching a stoplight. the light was yellow, but the driver didn't seem to stop.

"sir, we're gonna crash! stop the car!" your mother yells, worried.

your attention was grabbed, and you noticed that things were swinging out of control. the light then went red.

just then, the driver passes out, his foot still rested on the gas pedal. your mother panicked, taking over the wheel.

now, you were panicking too. you were afraid of dying.

you cry out in worry, "mom, what's going on?!"

"stay in your seat, y/n, you're gonna get hurt!" she yells in response.

as the car kept going forward, along with the terrible steering, a truck was approaching.

your mother looks at the bigger vehicle, knowing what would happen next. you look at it too, and your eyes widen.

"y/n, close your eyes! no matter what happens, mommy loves you, okay?!" she screeches out, tears pouring from her eyes.

"mom, i don't wanna die!" you yell out. you cover your face, bracing for impact. the tears kick in, and your fear takes over.

knowing that nothing else could be done for it, your mother braces herself, too. you both let out one last scream of fear before anything else should happen.

then, it went pitch black. your ears rang violently, and you could hear faint cries of distress in the distance.

your senses were slowly failing, sight being the first. then it was your taste, soon your touch. and finally, you heard nothing.
