(A/N: so I know my last oneshot got sorta angsty...who am I kidding? That's an understatement. It got super angsty and it's probably high up on the list of angstiest things I've written. But anyways, this is going to be a lot more lighthearted. I decided I'd write a birthday special for Kunikida! Without further ado, enjoy!)

It was a day like any other...for Kunikida at least. He was heading to work as he always did. Routines were made to be followed, even on a day such as today. And Kunikida intended to do just that.

He arrived at work early as always, headed to his desk, and began to do his usual paperwork.

Or tried to, at least.

A certain someone ended up interfering with it.

"Kuuuunnnniiiiikkkkiiiiiiiiddaaaaaa?" Dazai asked.

Kunikida didn't tear his gaze away from the paperwork. "What is it, Dazai?"

"How come you're working?" Dazai wanted to know.

Kunikida looked at Dazai. "Because I always do?"

"But on today of all days?" Dazai asked.

"Yes," Kunikida replied in a no-nonsense tone.

Dazai shook his head. "Tsk tsk."

"Dazai, you know I follow my schedules no matter what," Kunikida pointed out.

"Sadly," Dazai replied.

Kunikida shrugged and got back to work.

Hmmm...I need a plan. Wait a minute! Did I just sound like Kunikida? Since when do I say I need a plan? Dazai wondered.

Kunikida looked up again, shocked that Dazai had stopped trying to convince him to work.

Dazai noticed. "Yes, my dear? What is it?"

Kunikida was a little embarrassed. "Nothing."

Dazai looked skeptical. "Hmmm...are you sure about that?"

Kunikida nodded.

"I don't believe you," Dazai announced.

"Of course you don't," Kunikida muttered.

"Not my fault you're such a bad liar," Dazai joked.

Kunikida smiled a little. "Ok, point taken."

"Glad we're on the same page. Now, time to stop working," Dazai declared.

Kunikida sighed. "You do know I have a schedule to follow, right?"

"I would think you can go off schedule for just one day."

"No can do."

"But you should take the day off!"

"I already said I'm not going to."

Dazai pouted. "You should listen to me every now and then."

"Look who's talking," Kunikida shot back.

Dazai pretended to be offended. "Ouch. Here I am trying to do something nice and you go and insult me. So mean."

Kunikida knew Dazai was only joking, but he still felt bad. "I know...I'm sorry."

"It's fine," Dazai assured him.

Kunikida still looked doubtful.

"Really, it's all good," Dazai insisted.

"Well, if you say so," Kunikida replied.

Dazai grinned. "I do indeed."

"Alright." Kunikida got back to work.
