(A/N: hello! In today's oneshot, Dazai, Yosano, and Ranpo shall devise a plan to help a stressed Kunikida. Without further ado, enjoy!)
Kunikida was having yet another stressful day at work. It was nothing new, but that didn't make it any better. There was so much to do, and as much as Kunikida worked, he felt like he wasn't making any progress.
Which also wasn't unusual.
Part of Kunikida wanted to just take a break, at least for now. But the other part of him felt like it would make him a quitter. Admittedly, being the workaholic that he was, he still struggled with those thoughts.
Dazai noticed and walked up to Kunikida.
Kunikida glanced up.
Dazai got worried when he noticed how tired Kunikida looked. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, just trying to finish all this work," Kunikida replied.
"You know, you can take a break if you need to."
"No, I can't. There's too much to do."
"But it would help you."
Kunikida fell silent. He knew Dazai had a point, so he didn't bother trying to argue.
"Hold on, I'll be back." Dazai patted Kunikida's shoulder and then disappeared.
Kunikida was confused, but he just shrugged and got back to work.
Dazai headed over to Yosano's office, where he found her hanging out with Ranpo.
Yosano glanced at Dazai. "Well, well. What brings you here? Need a checkup?"
Dazai laughed a little. "Nah, I'm good. I'm here to talk about Kunikida."
"Does he need a checkup?"
"Not exactly, but I'm worried about him.'
That further caught Yosano and Ranpo's attention. If Dazai was worried, then they probably would end up feeling the same way. After all, they'd been friends with him for a long time.
"What's going on with him?" Ranpo wanted to know. "I'm assuming it's probably the usual, him being stressed about work."
"Yeah. But I don't know, it kinda seems worse than usual today. He looks like he's ready to either rip up his papers or break his pen or fall asleep at his desk. Or all of the above."
Yosano and Ranpo exchanged a quick glance.
"That Kunikida. He's been like this as long as I've known him." Yosano shook her head the way a big sister might. And truth be told, she practically was an older sister to the overworked idealist.
"Yeah, he really has," Ranpo agreed.
Dazai fell silent. He hadn't meant to get the two of them this worried. But it made sense that they were. After all, the three of them went way back.
"I have an idea," Yosano announced.
Dazai and Ranpo looked at her.
She glanced over at Dazai. "Go get Dazai."
Dazai nodded and headed out of the office.
Ranpo glanced at Yosano. "What's your idea?"
"I'm going to put a face mask on Kunikida. It might help him relax," Yosano explained.
"I remember how you used to do that for him sometimes back in the day."
"Yeah, I guess I just really enjoyed applying face masks to people. Or I was trying to ward off any signs of stress Kunikida ended up showing. Not that it worked in the end."

Kunikidazai Oneshots
FanfictionMuch as the title (and cover) would imply, this is going to be a book of oneshots dedicated to Dazai and Kunikida. It's my honest belief that this ship doesn't get enough attention and it's criminally underrated. So I've made the decision to give it...
