(A/N: I've been wanting to write this for awhile. Because I enjoy platonic Soukoku, I decided I'd write a oneshot where Dazai finds that he likes Kunikida but isn't sure what to do so he asks Chuuya for advice. Without further ado, enjoy!)

Dazai had a problem.

A really big one.

He'd recently realized that he might like his partner as more than a friend.

Aside from feeling like he wasn't good enough for Kunikida, he doubted he had a chance given how all those ideal woman pages existed.

He wished he could just be honest with Kunikida whenever the idealist caught him deep in thought and asked what was wrong. He didn't want to lie to his partner, but he didn't know how to admit something like this.

"Dazai?" Kunikida asked for the third time.

Dazai snapped out of his thoughts. "Huh?"

"I've been trying to get your attention for the past four minutes and nine seconds. Are you ok?"

"Uh...yeah! Of course!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yep!"

Kunikida was unconvinced. He walked over to the couch and laid a hand on Dazai's forehead, checking to see if he was sick.

Dazai's face heated up, and he averted his gaze. He was already loving that gentle touch of Kunikida's, and he worried that he'd start craving it more now. Scratch that, he already was.

Kunikida gave Dazai a concerned look. "You feel a bit warm. Are you sure you're ok?"

"Never better!" Dazai fibbed.

"Dazai, I know you're lying."

"Whaaaattttt? I would never!"

"...You still are."

"Ok, maybe I am."

"You can tell me anything, you know."

"Not this."

Kunikida was confused, and also felt bad because apparently somewhere along the way, he'd caused Dazai to feel like he couldn't be honest with him. "Did I do something to make you feel like you can't be honest with me?"

"Kunikida, of course not. This isn't because of you, I promise. I just don't know how to say it," Dazai assured him.

"Well...if you say so."

"I'll tell you once I figure out how I'm going to do that."

Kunikida nodded.

Dazai smiled, trying to put Kunikida at ease.

Kunikida smiled back a little, patting Dazai's arm and then heading back to his desk.

Dazai's heart skipped a beat.

Kunikida got back to work, still worried about Dazai. And also beginning to wonder why exactly he'd patted Dazai's arm. It wasn't like he had to do that. Could it mean he did it because...he wanted to?

What did that mean?

Dazai came to a decision as he watched his partner. He'd have to ask for help, and who better to ask than his friend and ex-partner Chuuya? He got out his phone and texted the redheaded fashionista.

Dazai: hey slug!

At the Mafia's headquarters, Chuuya had been working but then he paused when his phone went off. He looked at it, shocked. What does he need?
