(A/N: fear not, readers, for I have arrived to bring you a fluffy oneshot. I think about this particular idea a lot, Dazai noticing that Kunikida overworks himself and trying to get Kunikida to take more breaks. I think it's an adorable idea so naturally I had to write about it. This is another request by EmotionalFrige. Anyways, without further ado, enjoy!)
It was a pretty regular day for Kunikida, by which that meant he was working a lot as always. He'd been up for hours already and he'd even gotten to work a whole hour, twenty-four minutes, and eleven seconds early. He'd been at the agency since then, working and working without taking any breaks. He was just powering through it. He had a lot of paperwork to do today, so he got an early start and just kept going. And it was working.
...For now.
After a few hours, Kunikida began to grow tired. It was true that he hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, but for some reason he had assumed that it wouldn't stop him from getting his work done.
On a more surprising note, Dazai hadn't been teasing Kunikida like he usually did. He just sat by Kunikida and watched him work.
Kunikida looked up from his work and at Dazai. "You've been staring at me for a good nine minutes and twenty-seven seconds. What is it?"
"I happen to be appreciating your beauty," Dazai announced.
Kunikida blushed a little. "Oh...I see."
Dazai grinned.
Still red-faced, Kunikida went back to doing his work. He had to focus.
Dazai continued to watch his boyfriend. He may have been just seeing things, but he thought Kunikida looked more tired than usual (which was really saying something). He began to wonder just how long Kunikida had been at work today and just how much he'd been doing. From the looks of it, the idealist had probably been here for awhile and doing a lot of work. Dazai began to worry about Kunikida, and not for the first time. He knew all too well that the blond man was very prone to overworking himself. It happened at least a few times a week, if not daily. Dazai wished he knew how to help Kunikida.
Kunikida continued to do his paperwork, somewhat oblivious to Dazai's staring now.
Dazai watched Kunikida for another minute, and then he looked away. He was trying to think up some way to help his boyfriend who desperately needed it even if he couldn't see it. Kunikida couldn't keep overworking himself like this. It wasn't healthy.
Kunikida worked awhile longer, and then an intense sense of fatigue began to hit him. He laid down his pen, took off his glasses, and rubbed at his eyes. He tried not to give in to his tiredness because he wasn't done with his work yet and he had to stay on schedule.
Dazai glanced over and noticed. "Kunikida?"
Kunikida looked at Dazai. "Yeah?"
"Are you ok?" Dazai asked, concerned.
"Yep," Kunikida replied.
Dazai gave him a skeptical look. "Are you sure about that?"
Kunikida nodded.
Dazai still looked unconvinced.
Of course he doesn't believe me. Just goes to show how bad a liar I am, I guess, Kunikida thought. "Ok...maybe I could be better."
"I knew it! What's wrong?" Dazai questioned.
"I'm just a bit tired," Kunikida responded. Well, that's an understatement. I just want to go home and sleep, that's how tired I am. But I have to stay on schedule.

Kunikidazai Oneshots
FanfictionMuch as the title (and cover) would imply, this is going to be a book of oneshots dedicated to Dazai and Kunikida. It's my honest belief that this ship doesn't get enough attention and it's criminally underrated. So I've made the decision to give it...
