(A/N: Happy New Year, readers! What better way to ring it in than to write some good old jealous Dazai content? I'm going to have to provide a bit of an angst warning. Without further ado, enjoy!)

It had started out as a relatively normal day. Which was to say Kunikida was prepared for work as always but ended up practically dragging Dazai to work, also as always. That and Dazai didn't do his paperwork, yet again as always.

It was a bit later on that things started to take a turn.

Katai had showed up at the agency and in Dazai's mind, that was when everything started to go downhill. The reason? He was hanging out with Kunikida.

What was this feeling? Why did it bother Dazai so much that Kunikida and Katai were hanging out? Why did he suddenly feel as if Kunikida would walk away and leave Dazai without a second thought if Dazai didn't do something right this minute?

Dazai knew he shouldn't be thinking this way. He knew it was unfair of him to be so jealous.  He knew that logically he couldn't be the only person Kunikida ever talked to or spent time with. He knew Kunikida wouldn't leave him just because he was spending time with someone other than him.

But none of that stopped him from feeling the way he did, especially the fact that Kunikida wasn't talking to just anyone, he was talking to his best friend of a decade. Dazai was still dealing with all his irrational thoughts, and he didn't like it. This was dumb. Not that that stopped him, either.

Before Dazai could completely register what he was doing, he was marching towards Kunikida and Katai. "Heeeeyyyyyyy, Kunikida!"

Kunikida glanced at Dazai, confused.

Katai did the same.

"What is it, Dazai?" Kunikida asked.

"I need you for something," Dazai announced. It was only partially a lie.

"And what would that be?"

"It's not important. Just come with me."

"Can it wait?"

Oh no...he's already planning on leaving me, isn't he? He's not agreeing to come with me... "Nope!"

"Why not?"

"Because it just can't."

"That doesn't make any sense."

"Yes, it does." Dazai reached out and pulled Kunikida away.

"Hey!" Kunikida protested.

Katai was left there, perplexed.

Dazai just continued walking.

"What is your deal?" Kunikida demanded, pulling away.

"Maybe I just want to spend some time with you," Dazai replied.

"If you wanted to, then you shouldn't have disrupted my current conversation. Why couldn't you have just waited a minute?"

"Do I need a reason to want to hang out with my boyfriend?"

"Well, no."

"Exactly."

"Dazai. All I was doing was talking to my friend."

"Do you just...not want to spend time with me anymore?"

"That's not what I said and you know it."

"But what if it's what you meant?"

"It's not. Why would you even think that? Have I ever given you a reason to?"

"...Never mind."
