Kunikida's Long Day

(A/N: greetings, dear readers. This is another request by EmotionalFrige and this time, the agents shall see what happens when Kunikida doesn't have his coffee. This'll probably be more like crack than anything else. Now without further ado, enjoy!)

This rarely happened, but for some reason, it had happened today. Kunikida had overslept. Not too much, but enough for him to worry. He began to scramble to get ready for work, hoping that he wouldn't end up being late.

As he got ready, he realized something. He hadn't had his coffee yet. Sadly, he wouldn't have time for that today if he didn't want to be late for work. Sure, he depended on it to function, but what was one day without it? What could go wrong?

...He had spoken too soon.

This wasn't ideal in any way. He could barely function at all. Whether it was almost falling asleep at his desk or wanting to scream at Dazai more than usual, this definitely wasn't a good situation.

Regardless, he knew he had a schedule to stick to, and he was going to do that. Nothing would stop him.

Dazai snuck up behind Kunikida. But he wasn't stealthy enough, for Kunikida turned to see him.

Dazai pouted. "You weren't supposed to notice me yet."

Kunikida sighed. "Don't you have anything better to do than try and distract me?"

"Nope. I'm afraid that I must keep trying to get your attention."

"Dazai...why?"

"Hmmm...do I really need to answer that?"

"I'd appreciate it if you would."

"Alrighty then. Because I love getting attention from you."

Kunikida quickly looked away from Dazai.

Dazai grinned. "There's your answer. I could keep going if you'd like."

"That won't be necessary. I think I got it."

"Aww, what a shame."

"Fine, what else is it?"

"I love you."

There Dazai had gone again. He just had to go there, didn't he? It was just like him to start flirting to avoid getting into trouble.

Kunikida continued to look away from Dazai, feeling his face heat up.

Dazai grinned, proud that he'd accomplished his mission.

"...I love you too," came the reply.

Dazai smiled.

Kunikida glanced at Dazai and smiled back.

Dazai wandered off back to the couch, deciding to stop bothering his boyfriend since he'd finally gotten some attention.

Kunikida tried to get some more work done, but everything seemed ten times more distracting today. Even things that didn't normally distract him were doing just that. It felt like everyone was out to sidetrack him. He knew that wasn't really the case, but part of him still felt that way. And regrettably, it led to him being more annoyed at everyone than usual. He tried his best not to show it, but that wasn't always easy. Note to self, don't ever skip the coffee again, he thought.

At one point, Yosano walked over to him. "I think you need a checkup."

Kunikida got a little worried like he always did whenever a checkup was mentioned. "No, I don't."
