Chapter 3
For the rest of the week, I did nothing but hang around Eridan, Vriska, and even Gamzee during lunch periods. I didn't exactly mean to, because it's not what I really wanted. I actually wanted to go to my old table, with my old friends and do all the things I used to have fun doing with them. But I've realized that I can't have anything that I want.
So I'll take what I can get. And, I secretly admit, it was nice to have them by my side. Even if they were.... unique. Though, I guess since I've been with them for an entire week and I've done nothing about it, I'm unique too.
"Hey, Nepeta!" Vriska's voice cut through the chaotic noise. She was jumping up and down a few doors down, waving and smiling like crazy. It was sort of evil looking, but that's just her face in general.
She was saying something else, her hands cupped over mouth, but I couldn't hear a word. I gave a confused look and she looked exasperated as well. Then she began pointing to the computer lab, and I nodded in understanding. She smirked — or smiled, I'm not really sure anymore — and practically danced through the crowd to the lab.
I closed my locker door and followed shortly after, though my journey wouldn't be complete without a few elbows to the body.
Inside was quiet, the only actual noise being the soft hum of computers and the clacking of computer keys. The room was cold and the blinds were down, hiding the sun from the inside of the room, making it somewhat dark. Chairs were pushed in, except for at the direct front, where six people crowded around two computers.
Vriska looked up and waved me over, leaning over the shoulder of a boy tapping away on the keyboard. He grunted and pushed her off before continuing with what he was doing and ignored everyone else.
I recognized him immediately. It was hard not to. Like the other three that I've met on my week long stay of being a loner, I've known Sollux Captor for a while. In fact, we were in the same kindergarten class. We didn't talk much, only asking for a crayon that was too far out of our reach to ignore each other, so I'm not exactly up-to-date with how he's been so far.
The other two were vaguely familiar. The resembled someone I knew, but I just couldn't place my finger on it.
"Nepeta, these are a few other's that occasionally hang with us," Vriska said, grinning wider. As she showed her teeth, it made me wonder if she's ever had her blue lipstick stuck to them and no one told her for the entire day....
"I'm sure you remember Sollux. Not sure if he remembers you, or anything, considering you might have had zero contact with each other for years. But enough about the geek. We have two others for you to meet," she said.
"Vriska, please refrain from calling Sollux a 'geek'. It could be highly triggering for someone as him and you should consider his feelings over your's or your guests," one said. He was as strange looking as Eridan was, wearing a bright red sweater over his school uniform. He looked a little angry towards the brunette girl, who only waved him off with a flick of her wrist and a snort of distaste.
