Chapter 11

*Nepeta's POV*

The bell rung, signalling that it was finally the end of the day and the end of the school year for that year. For it was finally Winter Break and everyone could relax! Well, at least those who didn't take those extra classes that require tons of homework. Like Kankri. He happens to have ten pages of homework for four different classes and it's all due in January. But he enjoys it.

"Hey Nepeta! You coming over for Christmas and Christmas Eve?" Roxy asked. She was a little tipsy still, but she still could coherently speak and walk. For the most part.

"Yeah. I just need a ride since Meulin and my mom won't be able to drive me this time," I said. I slung my backpack over my shoulders, adjusting the bright blue straps so it fits snuggley on my back. "But I'm really excited too! I mean, it's not every year I get to spend a holiday without the folks!"

"Tots!" She giggled. Then she smirked a little. "So, when are you and Eridan gonna get together? You never told me the last time I asked!"

"I literally have no idea what you're talking about," I deadpanned. Ever since the Spooky Saturday Swing I had no recollection of what had happened after I took my third drink of spiked punch. I've asked everyone, but they either smirked, blushed, or just blantly told me that it was better to just forget it. It's been very annoying.

"Oh, come on!" the blonde exclaimed. We had started to walk towards the buses as we continued to talk, passing by people I used to talk to all the time. Barely anyone took a second glance. And for once, I was fine with that. Because I think it took whatever I did on Halloween to feel like I was the better person and everyone else is just giant dicks... Excuse my French.

"Come on what?"

"You, like, totally remember! You're just too shy to admit it! I mean, ma--"

Roxy was cut off by wild Dirk slapping a gloved hand over her mouth. He nodded silently to me and I smiled in return. "It seems she will be needing help getting home again. We'll see you tomorrow, Bropeta." He turned and dragged a struggling Roxy behind him towards the buses, which were starting to leave.

Not wanting to be left behind, again, I ran after my bus. But luck wasn't on my side, for my bus was always the first one to arrive and the first to leave and the farthest from the entrance. So, once again, I was left behind. Just great. This is wonderful!

I sighed and rubbed the bridge of my nose as I started to get a headache. The last day of school for the year and I get to walk home. At least I might be able to take my time and relax while freezing my ass off.

Fixing my bag and then pulling my jacket closer to my body, I started on my way home. It was cold and the sky was gray, which reminded me of the first day I actually had a good conversation with Eridan. And then I met Gamzee and Vriska later that day and everything seemed to turn up. I am forever thankful for that day.

A car honked behind me, making me look over my shoulder to see a burgundy car. Behind the wheel was a worried Aradia Megido and in the passenger seat, Terezi Pyrope. The redhead turned to the Asian girl, speaking to her with her eyebrows furrowed. She responded something back to her that made the blind girl tense slightly, but turned back forwards and wait awkwardly. Then Aradia turned off the car and got out.
