Chapter 19

I created what Nepeta's outfit would look like, but the link it's on (stupid polyvore) isn't presented as a jpeg, so if you wish to look at it, I'll type out the web address at the end of the chapter

NOW ON WITH THE CHAPTER!!!

I couldn't tell who looked more awkward.

My friends (who had scooched forwards in their seat) looked like they were trying their hardest not to miss anything juicy. As for Karkat, he looked like he was trying to come out of a cocoon while also fearing the height from his little leaf.

"I don't even know why the fuck I'm doing this," Karkat began. He looked back at Terezi, heard his slight pause, giving the 'Keep talking' gesture with her hands. "B-But Terezi and Kanaya wanted me to come talk to you about how you've been acting!"

I cocked my head, really confused as to why.

"Apparently, they think that I'm the reason to why you've fucking stopped hanging with us. And a few of the other shitstains that happen to be even remotely acquainted with us have become perturbed at how distant you've been that they've barely give a fuck to anything around them. And now, they want me to apologize for something that I have no inkling to what I had done wrong enough that they are blaming me to do this."

Karkat barely even rose his voice like he normally would, but to me, it felt like he just shouted it so loud that the entire world heard it. Oh my god...

"So I'm sorry about whatever these fuckers are saying I did and we wish that you stop congregating with these misfits and come back to meet with us every day, even if it's completely idiotic that someone would do this in the first place. Plus, if you come back, Equius and Kanaya won't be after my fucking balls to try and make things up with you," Karkat finished, crossing his arms awkwardly in front of him.

Everyone than looked at me expectantly. Terezi had her hands clasped together against her chest, almost as if she was praying to some form of a god for a good answer. Karkat looked like he was wishing for something similar, if not wanting to disappear into the void forever. As for my friends, it felt like they lent in closer than ever; I could practically feel them breathing down the back of my uniform.

"Umm..." I began quietly, fiddling with my nails. "C-Couldn't we have talked about this at a, um, better time?"

"What do you mean?" Vriska interrupted. "This is the absolutely perfect time!"

"I don't think this subject is exactly 'perfect' to discuss in the furreaking lunch room," I hissed at her before turning back to the dark haired Vantas.

"Karkat..." I trailed off. How could I put this into words that won't hurt me and him at the same time while also leaving me some peace from both groups of people that want to hear this conversation. "I... don't think I--"

In a split second, I was interrupted once again. God dammit, is it too hard to let me tell people how I'm feeling? Cause that's really what I'm trying to do these days but the universe just does not want me to get my words out of my furreaking mouth!!

"Hey, Karkat," a nasally voice said. In came Sollux Captor, one of many that will interrupt me for probably the rest of my entire existence, who came striding in with a swagger only an awesome computer nerd could possibly come up with. Hands deep in his jeans pockets, back hunched over an invisible computer desk, and heterochromia eyes still hidden behind 3-D glasses, he smirked at the stout Vantas when he stopped only a few feet away from him.
