Chapter 16
Things between everyone was kinda awkward. When we all returned to school, Eridan and I could barely look at each other. Kankri always turned into a stuttering mess whenever Damara happened to get too close, and on occasion I'd catch Gamzee giving the Brit some sort of pompous grin.
All in all, it seemed like everything that happened on Christmas was sending us into pieces. Vriska, Dirk, and Roxy were the only ones trying to keep everyone together while Sollux took all his attention towards some gaming system. It was like Christmas didn't affect him in any way.
I even felt guilty towards something. After I cooled down and thought things over, I realized that it technically was my fault that things ended up this way. If I didn't drink the punch, Eridan and I would still be on good terms and the kisses exchanged over break wouldn't have meant anything.
"I think I should talk to him," I muttered one day. Most of us were sitting at the back of the school again, eating whatever was edible from the lunch room and trying to keep it down.
Sollux looked up from his gameboy, curious. "Talk to who?"
"Eridan. It's my fault that things are this way. If I just apologize and clear things up, maybe things will go back to being normal and we can be friends again."
The brunette looked over, his eyebrow raising. "When wa'th Ampora ever 'normal'?" he snorted, saving his game and closing the device. "What world did you come from to th'ee if that dork had anything to do with that word?"
"Don't be mean, Sollux," I hit his shoulder, making him wince. "Sorry."
"It'th fine," he muttered, rubbing his shoulder. "But you gotta admit, that kid'th a dork. Nothing can explain otherwise."
I laughed. "Okay, he is a little bit of a dork. But a dork that didn't do too much wrong."
Sollux sighed, packing his things a bit before standing up with his bag slung over his shoulder.
"Look," he began," if you really want to apologize to the doofu'th, then do th'o. It'th your con'thciou'th that'th bothering you, not mine. But if it will make you feel better, I'll drive you to hi'th hou'the when th'chool i'th out."
"Really?" I asked, a smile stretching across my face.
He smiled back. "Yeah. Ju'tht for you. But don't tell everyone I'm doing it cau'th I'm a ni'th guy, okay? They'll think I give ride'th for free and they ain't you. Got it?"
"Got it."

Once the bell rung for the last class to end, I was out of the door in no time. Sure, I might have pushed a few people down and smacked them in the face with my backpack, but all is fair in the race to freedom. Plus, I had no idea what Sollux's car looked like. Or the fact that he had one.
I was luck to catch the heterochromia eyed boy just outside the school doors. He looked about ready to set everything on fire when I bumped into him.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Why does sun exist?" He growled. Sollux looked up at the sky, the sun gracing us with its presence on a cold winter afternoon.
"If we didn't have it," I explained," we wouldn't even exist." Sollux looked ready to give a snarky remark back, but I pulled him towards the parking lot just in time. "So which one is yours."
He pointed to a shiny yellow motorcycle. It didn't look like it could fit much on there, but boy did it look loved and brand new.
"Th'th baby i'th my 2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R," he boasted. From his pocket he grabbed a pair of dark brown riding gloves and slipped them on before running his hand against the metal. I was surprised he said all that without some form of a lisp. "I won't let anyone ride th'th beauty unle'th I know for th'ure they won't th'crew it up. Which i'th why it make'th you th'o th'pecial, honey bee."
Hiding my blush, I accepted the black helmet he gave me, slipping it over my blonde curls, and watched as he put his own safety on.
"You get on the back, toot'th," he said, way too much confidence oozing from his pores. "I'll give you a ride you won't forget."
Now, don't get me wrong about not being excited for my first bike ride. Nor the fact that a geeky weirdo like Sollux Captor seems more edgy near an automobile is kinda hot. But I still don't think that bike could hold both of us, out stuff, and whatever's left and take us to wherever Eridan lived.
But, the lispy boy insisted very much, and now I'm clinging fearfully to the jacket of said boy as we ride off to my official doom.
***
"I can't believe we made it in one piece," I squeaked, practically falling off the bike. Sollux merely chuckled and slid off gracefully, undoing his helmet and letting his brown locks get messed up in the breeze.
"I don't drive that bad," he said, feigning hurt. "If anything you th'houldn't let Kankri drive. He'th wor'the than an old man with Alzheimer's."
"If he was here you'd get an earful of triggers, you know that, right?"
"But he'th not," he replied smugly. "Now go and make up with your boi. Just call me if you want a ride home."
And with that, he was gone, dust being the only thing that actually told you that he was even there.
Sighing, I got off the ground, dusted my school uniform off, and walked towards the lavish house behind me. I was a little worried on how this would go, all things considered. I just hoped he would stay and listen to what I had to say.
The house was pretty, and seemed totally like... Well, an Ampora. It was a nice shade of violet, the windows large and had dark drapes covering most of the inside. Silver could be seen glinting in the sun, flashing all across the wet grass from melted snow. The walkway was covered in what looked like jewels, and the door was so large it looked like three cars could fit through that no problem.
Knocking on the door was the easy part. All I had to do was reach up, grab the seahorse head ring, and slam it against the dark mahogany. Waiting patiently was second easiest. But keeping the nerves calm as heavy footsteps came to the door was possibly one of the hardest things to do.
I jumped once the door clicked and began to move, opening and slowly revealing the body on the other side. It was almost like the person on the other end was purposely teasing me, and causing me to go into an meltdown.
But the guy on the inside of the house wasn't exactly the one I was looking for.
He looked like Eridan. Stood almost perfectly like him too. His hair was almost styled the same, except for his was a lighter and had more hair gel that could supply most of Africa. And he certainly didn't dress like him too.
White T-shirt with grease stains, an old and well-worn, brown leather jacket, shiny leather pants, and squeaky clean black shoes, the ginger man on the other side leant against the black door frame. Taking out what seemed like a candy cigarette from his moist lips, he grinned down on me with icy blue eyes.
"What's a gal like youz doing here, doll face?"
I UPDATES! Does I's makes yous happy, readers? That I put out a chapter?
To be honest, I was stuck until I realized that there was a perfect outcast that needs his time to shine. Of course it helped that while I was in my long "in pain because of a migraine" state, I watched Grease Live tonight and finally got the juice to write this chapter once I could stand to look at bright things again.Hoped you enjoyed this chapter!!!
