Schools about to start this Friday for me so I wanted to get atleast one request out. I'm so sorry for the almost 5 month wait but I really didn't know what to do with the plot to fill in 2k words.

Richard sighed to himself as he finally saw the sign with the word 'Nottingham' on it. He turned to the two guards who accompanied him to France as they both looked tired. One of them looked like he could fall off his horse any moment. "We're almost home, friends. Then we can all rest." Richard tried to reassure his guards who grunted out a reply.

"What are you going to do, sire? After we get home?" One guard asked him to start a conversation. Richard smiled at himself as he thought about you waiting for him. "I know that I have a lovely wife waiting for me. I can't wait to see her again." The guards smiled at their king's admiration for you as they continued their way.

On the other hand, you, John, and Marian were waiting in front of the castle doors. You couldn't wait to see your husband again after being separated for some time. Marian stood next to you as she smiled at your expression. Anyone could see the love in your eyes if they knew you.

"How long has he been gone for?" Marian asked as she didn't really keep up with the time. You chuckled as you answered straight away. "For three weeks or so." Your husband was supposed to only stay there for almost a week, maybe even less, only to be offered to stay two more nights so he could easily and quicker arrive at his next destination, Spain. He immediately had written a letter to you about his current whereabouts and situation much to your relief.

You had missed him quite a bit. You were used to him being gone for a day or two, but not for weeks. Sometimes he had to stay somewhere or travel to another destination right after the last one, causing him to be gone for days to weeks.

Sometimes he asked you if you wanted to go with him, not for only work but also as a slight vacation. You denied it as you weren't really an outgoing or traveling person. And because you didn't want to leave those poor villagers in the hands of John who will always be the first person to take care of the county once you both leave, Marian being second.

"And can you perhaps stop grumbling for one second? It's your brother for goodness sake." You addressed John who was shocked you noticed his mood. He made a noise before fixing his pose, standing clearer and more welcoming. You already knew about John's intentions with your husband and already made a few things clear with John even before you got into a relationship with Richard. John would never be king unless he gets rid of Richard and you, or when he finally fixes his damn greed and selfishness. Then perhaps he stood a chance once Richard would want to retire.
