A/N

First short fic I worked on for 2 weeks and even took a 2-week break in between lmao! I'm sorry if there are hints of Robin x Prince John in this fic. I do ship them, but I swear it wasn't my intention on hinting a bit toward it in this one lmao!

Also ngl, I actually laughed at my own writing in a certain part in this one lmao, I secretly hope you'll know what part I'm talking about once you get there, if not I know my shit humor is broken.

I might be actually impressed at my writing skill in this one too. I tried my best to make them not OOC but I'm sorry if the ending seems like it. It's too soon for an angst fic...too soon.

Also props to you if you manage to find the hidden Shrek and Steven Universe references lmao.

Anyway, vote and or comment on this fic as I'm trying to get back to writing and enjoy this one!

"Hear he, hear he!"

Villagers surrounded the fountain where the messenger stood like every week. He had dozens of papers in his hands as he waved them around. A few minutes went by before the messenger started talking, nearly the entire village population was listening to him.

"His Majesty, King Richard, together with Lord Gudfred and many other lords have decided, to strengthen the bonds between countries and their civilians, by announcing a friend test. Hereby the people, of their own choice, can participate and fill in one of these papers filled with certain questions.

So if you're looking for a new person to talk to or write to with the same interests as you, then take one of these papers! You can be matchmade with someone from France or Spain or perhaps even China! Maybe there was someone all along for you in this very country itself! So if you're interested, the papers are here. I will be back here in three days to receive the papers from the ones wanting to join and the matchmaking can start then. You will receive the answers back the following week with their papers and their answers and their name and country name. The papers to participate can be found hanging at the entrance of the village and in the castle.

That was all. Thank you for your listening ears. A good day to you all."

Chattering and whispers started filling the air the moment the messenger made his way to exit the village, not before hanging them on a post near the said entrance. Some people were excited, while others were more unsure about this whole thing.

How were they sure they would meet the right person? Any friends with the same interests and likings can still end up with fights and arguments. And what if there was no person for them? Does that mean they'll never have a true friend?
