King Richard:

- Oh, this poor man.

- When he caught feelings for you, he thought it was obvious to you.

- Well, it was for anyone else in the damn county, except you.

- Honestly, the gang and Prince John couldn't imagine a more oblivious person than Richard out of everything. Yet there you were, naively smiling as the bloody King of England gazed at you with heart eyes.

- Richard wasn't sure how to approach you without being obvious, not knowing you didn't know shit that was going on between you and him.

- He looks fine and calm on the outside, as always- maybe a little awkward too, but on the inside, he's nervous as hell.

- Do you know he likes you more than just a friend?

- Are you just being friendly to not make this friendship awkward?

- Have you already rejected him in your head?

- The thought of you not knowing it at all never got into his mind.

- But as he put his crown back on and got his confidence back, he decided to try showing signs. Whether you knew of his crush on you or not, he wanted to try and make a move nevertheless.

- That man wanted to buy nearly every damn romantic thing the market had to offer.

- Flowers, your favorite pastries, some nice accessory he knew you'd like and suited you, a romantic letter, written with a bit of help from the writer of the village. Heck, he was ready to give you a promise ring already if it wasn't for Marian and Robin to slow him down! If he wanted to approach you with hints, he needed to be a little subtler with the gifts. Perhaps the pastry bit or flowers shall do the trick for now.

- Taking the teenagers' advice, Richard decided to do both.

So there he was, standing in front of your door, with your favorite flowers and some nice pastries baked by Mathilde herself. An almost unnoticeable rosy color doting his cheeks as he bashfully looked away from your surprised look before properly addressing you.

"Good day, Y/n! I noticed this lovely bouquet on the market and couldn't think of any better person to receive them than you, plus these delicious pastries baked by Mathilde herself who was so generous to gift me them! Take these as -eh, my gratitude for our long-time friendship! I wouldn't want to see myself with anyone but you with all the lovely years we've spent together. So, would you please accept them?"

- Guy was acting as if he was already proposing to you.

- Also, jokes on you, that bouquet was nowhere on the market. That thing was put together on paper a week beforehand, making sure your favorites were in there together with some in-season species. Also, leaving the ones out that might give you an allergic reaction. (If you have any, that is) Arriving a few hours earlier today, fresh and fully bloomed.

- (Also, if you have hay fever, ignore this whole ass paragraph and think you only got the pastries lmao.)

- But away from that, you invited him in to share the pastries, giving the flowers the place they deserve in a nice vase on a table, and having a swell time as you both got into another conversation for the next few hours.
