Becca's POV

I woke up numb and exhausted. Every bone and muscle in my body hurt from falling asleep in the tiny uncomfortable hospital chairs. The sting of disinfectant attacked my senses and the constant beep of the heart monitor. My eyes adjusted to the blinding light to show me that I was still in Andy's hospital room.

I climbed out of the makeshift bed of a chair and stood next to the bed. Andy looked a bit better than last night, except for the tube down his throat and all the wires he was hooked up to, but other than that he looked like he was sleeping and was going to wake up at any moment.

Suddenly, there was a knock from the glass. I snapped around to find Joanna standing in the doorway. "Good morning Miss Hale."

"Good morning to you too Dr. Chase." I grumbled, my throat feeling raw and scratchy. "How long was I out?"

Joanna checked her watch. "A few hours." She walked past me and pulled out a stethoscope, pressing the metal end to Andy's bandaged chest. "We're going to be taking Andy off the ventilator today. His lungs are stronger and his vitals have stabilized, so we should be moving him out of the ICU later today." At least there was some good news, but that still worried me.

"But what about the coma?" I asked. "Is he going to wake up or what?"

Joanna pursed her lips together, trying to find the proper words to say. I immediately knew what that meant. The silence was all I needed.

"You don't know, do you?" I questioned the doctor, who nodded in confirmation. "So what do we do now?"

"You should go home Becca." She insisted. "Nothing will come out of you depriving yourself of proper sleep. Matt told me everything that happened and with that amount of mental stress you have put yourself under in the past twelve hours, it's a miracle you're still functioning. Go home and get some proper rest. Take care of yourself. I will have the hospital call you if anything happens."

As much as I didn't want to admit it, Joanna was right. I was of no use here. This place was draining me physically, emotionally, and mentally. I had to get out and go home. I had no words to say, no more questions, nothing. All I knew I could do now was go home. Joanna led me down to the first floor before getting called over by a group of nurses huddled by the reception desk. I almost made my way out of the hospital before realizing that I had came here in the ambulance with Matt and now had no way home.

"Shit." I mumbled under my breath, pulling my phone out of my back pocket and turning back to walk to the waiting room. I was immediately flooded with messages and missed calls from Gabe, Joe, Marie, and one call from Piper. There was no message left from her or anything, which terrified me. Quickly, I opened my texts. The most recent one was from Matt, saying that he had taken Clara back to Andy and I's house and was going to stay and keep an eye on her until I got back. I was about to answer before colliding right into someone walking in the opposite direction. His coffee spilled all over my shorts and vans, burning my bare legs. I hissed in pain.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry." The guy panicked, handing me the napkins in his hand.

I accepted them and began wiping the burning drink off my legs. "No you're fine. That was my fault, I should have been paying attention to where I was going."

"No, I should have." The guy laughed. "Are you okay?"

I nodded, scanning the guy. He actually was kinda cute, his ginger hair was in a sleepy mess and there was a tired look in his green eyes that contrasted against his pale, chiseled face. "Yea," I answered. "I'm fine. I'm Becca by the way."

"Jacob." He introduced himself. "Sorry about spilling my coffee on you just now."

I laughed. "Hey it's fine. Feels like I needed that wake up call anyways."
