Andy's POV
I got to the station as soon as I could after Matt called me about having new information about the Weekes case.
"Hey guys," I grabbed his and Meagan's attention. "What'd you find?"
"We got the security tapes from the night Aubrey was killed." Meagan explained, turning back to Matt's computer. Something didn't feel right though.
"Where's Piper?" I wondered.
"She's at the hospital." Meagan explained. "She's okay, but her boyfriend got attacked the other night. It was pretty bad from what she told me, but she said he's feeling better."
'Wow' I thought. 'Poor kid. At least he's okay now.' My thoughts trailed over to thinking about what if it could have been Becca and I in that position. She was one tough cookie, but if that happened to her I don't know what I would do. I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts by my phone going off. Checking the caller ID, I saw that it was Pete, so I put it on vibrate and slid it in my back pocket.
"Who was that?" Meagan wondered as Matt pulled up the security tapes.
I shrugged. "Pete. It's probably nothing, I'll call him back after this." I turned my attention back to the monitor. Matt pulled up the surveillance tapes. Most of it was nothing of interest to us, but then I something caught my eye.
"Hey, who's that?" I pointed at a figure that was following Aubrey in the video.
Matt rewound the video and paused it. The three of us leaned in closer to try and get a better look. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a better picture of whoever or whatever was following her.
"You think that could be our killer?" Matt asked, turning back to us.
Meagan shook her head. "They could be. Piper and I looked over possible suspects a few days ago, anyone who could have a motive or have contacted her in the days before her death."
"Did you find anything?" Matt asked.
She nodded. "Yep. The day she was killed, Aubrey received a text from a guy named Brendon Urie. We both thought it was nothing at first, but then we dug a little deeper and discovered something odd."
Now we were interested. "What did you find?" I wondered.
"They started talking about someone that goes by the name of 'Mz. Hyde'. I thought it was nothing at first, but then we did some research. Apparently this person knew both Weekes and Urie and had some kind of dirt against Urie from what Piper found out." She explained. "Apparently Weekes wasn't on their good side either."
"You think this 'Mz. Hyde' person has something to do with this?" I guessed. My phone suddenly went off again. I checked and saw that it was Pete again, so I ignored it.
Meagan nodded. "Exactly. My guess is you find Mz. Hyde, you find the killer."
Matt leaned back in his seat and huffed in frustration. "That sounds like a great idea and everything guys, but one issue. We have no fucking clue what this 'Mz. Hyde' looks like."
He was right. All we had was a blurry image of a person in all black following Aubrey. Out of curiosity, I reached over Matt and zoomed in on out newest suspect, realizing that we had one piece of identifying whoever this was. Their face was hidden from the camera, but their blue-green hair was visible through their hood.
But before I could point it out to Meagan and Matt, my phone went off for the third time and it was still Pete. I gave in and walked away to answer, knowing he wouldn't leave me alone until I picked up.
"HURLEY! WHAT THE HELL MAN IVE TRIED TO CALL YOU THREE FUCKING TIMES WHY DIDNT YOU ANSWER?!!!!" Pete panicked as soon as I answered.
"Pete, calm down. What's going on?" I asked calmly.
"Andy, you need to get down here. Now." He stopped yelling, but I could still tell he was freaking out. This was bad, really bad.
"Pete, what happened? Where are you?" I masked my worry with calm.
There was silence on the line for a few seconds, but then Pete's voice shook over the phone.
"Andy, it's Becca. She was shot."
