Andy's POV
"There." I huffed, putting the box on the bed. "That's the last of the stuff, we are officially living together."
Becca looked up from the box she was already unpacking. "That's it?" She raised an eyebrow.
I nodded. She smiled and dropped the hoodie she was putting away, wrapping her arms around me. She quickly pecked my lips. "Thanks for the help."
I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her in closer. I kissed her back, but longer. We were both suddenly interrupted by my phone going off. I looked down and checked the caller ID. It was Matt.
"I gotta take this." I said. Becca let go of and turned back to unpacking.
I answered the call. "Hurley."
"Hey man, it's Matt." Matt's voice came through the speaker. "We just got a 911 call of a murder and we need you out here."
I grimaced, these weren't fun. "Who's on the case?"
"Us, Camper, and that new cadet." He listed off.
"Is Bones on forensics?" I wondered.
"Yea, she's already at the scene. We're gonna meet her there." He replied.
"Okay, I'll meet you there." I hung up and grabbed some clothes out of my closet, considering I was in my favorite X-Men tee shirt and gym shorts.
"Andy, what's going on?" Becca asked worriedly.
"I got called into work." I answered, throwing on a white button down shirt and grabbing a random tie, which happened to be the red plaid one that Becca liked. She set down the clothes she was folding and walked over to me.
"This late?" She wondered, tying my tie.
I nodded. "Yep, someone called in a murder."
She grimaced for a second, but then her expression softened a bit. "Okay, but be safe." She lightly kissed my cheek.
"I'll be fine." I laughed, grabbing my badge and gun. "I promise."

Matt's directions led me to an apartment not far from the radio station where Becca worked. The entry to the building was blocked off by police. I quickly flashed them my badge and they let me pass. I went up to the apartment where everything happened and was met with Meagan.
"Hey." I weaved over the crime scene tape.
"Hey yourself." She answered.
"What do we got?" I asked.
"Female, 26 years old, her roommate found her on the living room floor with her throat and wrists slit." Meagan explained, leading me to the crime scene.
"Name?"
"Aubrey Weekes." She answered. "Her roommate is over with Mix and Piper giving them the full report. Her name's Sarah Orzechowski."
The crime scene was empty, if you didn't count the detectives, the crime scene equipment, and the dead body in the center of the room. There were definite signs of a struggle. Picture frames were shattered on the floor and some of the furniture was flipped around. I knelt next to the body. She actually was very pretty, even though she was dead. Her lifeless brown hair was fanned out under her and her skin was drained of all color. There was a crimson line around her throat and wrists where the knife sliced her open. She wore a skin tight black dress and silver heels, which were covered in her blood.
"Hey Bones." I nodded to the woman across from me.
She looked up, brushing a loose strand of honey brown hair out if her face. "Hey Andy." She said. Her real name was Marie, but we all called her Bones.
"Find anything?" I asked, pulling on a pair of gloves.
"Yea," She knelt closer to the body and pointed to her neck. "The cause of death wasn't these lacerations. She was strangled first with a rope." She pointed to a large purple bruise on the victim's neck. "The killer cut her throat and wrists after to hide the actual cause."
"Any ideas on what happened?" I asked.
Marie shook her head. "Nope. I'm gonna do a full toxicology report when I get back to the lab."
I nodded. "Okay. I'm gonna go talk to the roommate." I climbed to my feet and walked over to Piper and Matt.
Piper, or Pipes as I called her, was new to the team. She just 20 when she graduated from the Academy at the top of her class. She was assigned to Meagan this year because she was so smart. She was tiny and her hair was still blue green from a recent undercover assignment. The girl was downright brilliant and fit in very quickly.
"Hey Pipes." I spoke up.
She spun on her heels and ran into me. "Hey Andy."
"So what do we have here?" I asked.
"The roommate said she went out for drinks, Sarah met a guy, she left, came home two hours ago and found her friend like this." Piper explained, turning back to Sarah. "Miss Orzechowski, thank you so much. Detective Mixon and I will get back in touch with you as soon as possible."
The roommate, Sarah, nodded between her sobs. "Th-thank you" Her voice shook. "I don't know who would do something like t-this."
"Did Aubrey have any family?" I asked.
Sarah nodded. "Y-yes. She has a brother, Dallon." She burst back into tears, Matt tried to comfort her.
"I've already made the call." Piper added grimly. "He sounded devastated."
I nodded. "Alright. Bones said she's gonna do a toxicology report when she gets back."
"Got it. Meagan and I are gonna head to the lab and see what we can find with her." Piper replied.
"Okay." I answered. "I'm gonna stay here with Mix and see what I can find."
Piper nodded and headed out with Meagan. I stayed with Matt and began sweeping the apartment for clues, knowing we were gonna be in for a long night.
