Becca's POV

"Pete, Becca, can I talk to you?" Our boss, Mark, poked his head through the door.

"Sure." Pete answered, pulling his headphones off, readjusting his black beanie that was covering his hair. Mark led us to his office a few floors up from our booth. "So, what is it you want to talk about?"

Mark took a seat at his desk. "I need you two to do something for me." He explained.

Pete raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Yea, what's up?"

"Well, there's a new club opening up this Saturday called the Starship, the owner has offered to partner with us to get some publicity. And your show seems to be the most popular, so we were thinking that the two of you could host one of your shows at the Starship." He explained. Pete and I looked to each other, then back to Mark.

I shrugged. "That sounds awesome."

Pete agreed. "Let's do this."

Mark grinned and lean back in his chair. "Great, I will see you two Saturday."

The Starship was a huge club in the center of Chicago, and it was completely packed. Pete and I did a live show inside, which was a lot of fun. Meagan and Andy came along with us to take some stress off from work.

"Okay Pete," I leaned into my microphone. "You've been wearing that stupid fedora all night. I just gotta ask, why? What is with the fedora?"

Pete laughed and readjusted his headphones that were hanging upside down. "You really wanna know, do you?"

Meagan, Andy, and I all nodded. "Yes!" We all exclaimed.

Pete laughed and shrugged. He grabbed the fedora and tossed it to the ground. We all gasped in shock. Pete's jet black hair was bleached white blonde. "Well, here ya go."

I held back my laughter as much as I could. "Oh my god."

"Nice hair, man." Andy snickered.

"Awwww" Meagan pulled him close and ruffled his new hair. "I like it."

Pete kissed her on the cheek and put the fedora back on. "Thanks, and that's all the time we've got for tonight!" He cut back to the show. We did our usual sign off and played another song to transition to the next show.

Andy wrapped his arm around me and kissed my nose. "Great show babe."

I leaned my head in his shoulder. "Aw, thanks."

Suddenly, Meagan's phone went off. She answered it but barely said a word. "Yea, I'll be there in a minute." She nodded and hung up.

"What was that?" Pete wondered.

"Piper called, she said she may have a lead on the Weekes case." She explained quickly.

Andy shot up. "Do you need me, or what?"

She shook her head. "No, you stay here and relax. I've got this one." She grabbed her jacked, gave Pete a quick kiss goodbye, and disappeared towards the exit. As I watched her leave, I noticed three figures in one of the booths. Taking a quick double take, I immediately began to feel sick.

I turned to Andy. "Hey, I'm gonna go freshen up really quick. Be back in a bit." I quickly shot up and placed my headphones on the table, along with my microphone. I weaved through the crowd and over to the booth. The three guys inside stopped their conversation and stared at me in surprise. The one on the right was in a leather jacket with some jeans and a solid grey tee shirt. His dark brown hair was combed back as well. All the color in his face drained at the sight of me. The one on the left was dressed similar to his friend, but instead of a grey tee shirt, he wore a blue button down shirt the same color as his electric blue eyes. His wild brown curls shot out in a large afro around his head. The guy in the center wore a slick black and white suit. His naturally tan skin gave off an odd glow in the lights of the club.

"Becca?!" They all exclaimed.

I could feel the blood rushing to my face. "Hey guys, long time no see?"

The one in the center looked around warily, then back to me. "Um, maybe we should meet in my office."

My eyes widened. "Wait, YOU own this place?!"

He smirked at me. "Why of course I do."

I rolled my eyes. "Gabe Saporta, I should have known that it was you."

Gabe stood up and slid out of the booth, along with his two companions. "I guess my office would be the best place to discuss all of this." He straightened his jacket and led the three of us through the partying crowds to his office in the back of the club. Once he shut the door, we were cut off from the party outside. The music was blocked out from the walls, leaving us in silence.

I looked to the three of them. "Gabe, Ryland, Joe, nice to see you guys again."

Gabe say down at his desk and leaned back in his chair. "Becca, surprise to see you here."

My eyes darted around the room in nervousness. "What? Here, or in Chicago?" I wondered.

Ryland drummed his fingers on the desk. "What are you doing at the Starship? I thought you said you were done with us and our scene."

I shook my head. "I am. I am done with that scene. It was killing me and I had to get out. I'm here for my job and that is it."

Gabe raised an eyebrow. "You're the girl from the radio that was invited to do a show here."

I nodded. "Yep, that's why I'm here. Now I've got a question for you three; What are you doing in Chicago?"
