THREE WEEKS LATER
Becca's POV

It's been weeks since Andy was shot, and there hasn't been many updates on his recovery. Clara and I still visit him in hopes of him waking up, but nothing happens. I still keep in contact with Joanna about him. I know it's useless, but it's all I have for now.

Joe and I kept playing more shows, replacing Pete as our bassist, to help me keep going. We started to get a stable fanbase that showed up to every shows, and it was growing with every show.

Tonight we were playing at the Metro, which blew me away at how popular we were getting. Pete and I were heading over to sound check an two hours before doors opened, but there was no sign of Joe. I called him right after work and he said that he was on his way to the venue, but that was hours ago. But either way, I could check his guitars and synths for him and hope he gets here in time.

Bronx and Clara sat side stage of us, both wearing noise canceling headphones watching as Pete, our drummer Jenna, and I fiddled around with our equipment and playing a few songs. Joe didn't show up at all, making me more worried.

After sound check, we headed back to the dressing room they provided for us. Pete sat on the couch texting Meagan, Jenna grabbed her practice pad and a bottle of water before disappearing outside where most of our gear was stored, and I paced in front of the couch, doing my vocal warm ups to help me calm my nerves.

"Are you sure Joe's coming?" Pete asked. "Doors open in an hour and we go on in an hour and a half."

"Yea." I nodded my head in affirmation. "Should I call him?"

"That's our best shot as of right now." He answered, pulling himself off the couch and grabbing something off the table in front of him. "Meagan's out front, I'm gonna go let her in. Be right back." He disappeared out the same back door, leaving just me and the kids.

I grabbed my phone off the table on the other side of the room which had my stage clothes and some makeup scattered across it. There weren't any missed messages from Joe, which immediately made me think something was up. The phone rang three times before someone answered. "Joe where are you? You missed sound check and-"

"B-Becca?" A woman stammered on the other end of the line. I went numb in shock, this was not good.

"Marie?" I gasped. "Where's Joe?"

"They have him." She answered. It didn't sound like her, it was too mechanical, lacking all emotion.

"Who has him?" I asked calmly.

"Th-they have him." She repeated.

Then I knew what she meant. "Where are you?" I kept my calm.

I heard movement on the other end of the line, and Marie was screaming. "Hello Rebecca." The same sickly sweet voice that was in my nightmares rung through my ears.

"Piper." I growled.

Piper clicked her tongue at me. "Tsk tsk Rebecca, that's no way to treat your friend."

"You are not my friend." I snapped. "Where is Joe?"

The psychopath laughed at me. "Why do you think I'm going to tell you?"

I started pacing around the dressing room. "I don't care what you're reason is, but don't even think about hurting either of them."

"Then you better find him soon." Piper laughed again like this was nothing but a game, then hung up. I put my phone back in my pocket and kept pacing the room, trying not to panic and focus on where she could have them. The Starship was a possibility, but it would be open now so that crossed out.
