Meet the new Secretary

Chapter 14

NOTE: I know it's been months since I last updated this story. I've been really busy with school and other things so ..forgive me? :) Thank you for fanning,voting, and commenting (although there are not much comments here :p) Tell me what you think of the new chapter :)

 

"Have you seen Lucky?"

"I saw him this morning with Carol. Why?" Chase is sitting on the front porch reading a book. His glasses are perched on the bridge of his nose. He looked adorable. 

I decided to ignore his hotness and continue looking for my baby Lucky. I was about to go to Carol's room when I heard Chase's mom calling me.

"Clara dear, are you busy?"  I saw her on the kitchen, she is wearing an apron and there is flour all over her face and her hair.

"I'm just looking for Lucky and Carol. Why?"

"Ahm, I have a bit of a problem here. Will you help me?"

 I decided to help Lily with her kitchen dilemma. I'll look for Lucky later. I went inside the kitchen and was surprised. Lily's little problem is..a total chaos. There is flour everywhere, and I mean everywhere. I don't even know how she manage to get flour on the ceiling. There is flour on the floor, the sink and even on the oven. Egg shells are scattered on the counter too. The butter which is placed near the open stove is starting to melt and cause a mess on the floor. 

I grabbed an apron and I tied my hair. 

"So what are we making?"

"I'm trying to make a chocolate cake but it seems I can't get the recipe right. I tried it 3 times already but it always fail." Lily has that defeated look on her face. I am no pastry chef but I know a bit about baking so I guess my training in pastry will be put to practice now. I just hope I can get things right. 

"Maybe we should clean this mess first."

I can't work if things are all over the place. I need a clean and spacious station for me to work.  I started picking up the egg shells and wiping the counter top. Lily started sweeping the floor. It took us ten minutes to clean up the whole mess. 

I started doing my things, I told Lily to literally watch and learn. I started making the cake batter. I made a lot actually , the batter can make three chocolate cakes. I'm a chocolate cake addict so yeah, it is mostly for my benefit.

I put all three cake pans on the oven. Their oven is large enough to fit all three pans all at the same time. After that, I started making the ganache or the chocolate sauce. I heat cream, and pour it all over the chopped chocolates.  stir it until it all melted and then I added a little butter. 

"I can smell something yummy in here."

I turned around and it was Nicole. She looked like she had been out running. I envy her because she has a great body. I am too lazy to work out so yeah..enough said.

"Clara rescued me from a kitchen emergency. And I tell you she is amazing , it's like seeing a chef at work!"

"You're flattering me." I just said simply. I went to the oven and check if the cake is cooked already. I inserted a paring knife at the middle and saw that it came out clean already. I took the pan holder at started removing the cakes one by one. I put them at the counter top. I let them cool for a bit before I started coating them with the ganache. 

Lily decided that she really can't help me in decorating the cake , she went upstairs to look for beautiful plates. I was left alone on the kitchen , I am actually grateful for the silence because it helps me to concentrate on what I am doing.
