Meet the new Secretary

CHAPTER 26

DAY 5

It's been five days since Chase and I went to visit my parents back in China. It's been five days but my dad still hasn't mellowed to Chase. It's been five days since we started lying in front of my parents.

Nothing much has changed.. well actually, a lot has changed. Chase started being so..how do I put it.. he started being so territorial. He promised that he will be civil towards Mike .. he sorta did.

Well , not really. Chase's Idea of civil is glaring at Mike from across the table. Or watching Mike's actions whenever he is around me. I don't know why but Mike visits us almost everyday. He will most likely eat dinner.

Chase didn't like that. Not one bit.

 But , I had to give him credit for his patience. He hasn't said a bad word towards Mike.  But when we're alone , he still address Mike as 'that bastard'.

I just got out of the bathroom, wearing only a bathrobe with a towel on my head. I heard a knock on my door. I ignored it ,thinking that maybe it was my mom asking me to come down for lunch.

But then someone knocked again.

"Just a minute!"

I opened the door , and to my surprise I saw that it was Chase. His arm is on the door frame, blocking my way out. He is wearing a white shirt , he has a white towel draped on his shoulders. He drenched in sweat for some reason. I forgot to mention that he also look hot as hell.

"Are you seducing me?" Chase asked.

"What?"

"I said, are you seducing me huh girlfriend? " Chase then traced the V opening of my bathrobe.

I slapped his hands, but he just laughed. I felt my face become hotter. I know I'm blushing again.

"You pervert." I said as I pulled the bathrobe closer to my body. He just laughed again.

"Why are you drenched in sweat?"

"I mowed your lawn. It was scorching hot outside!"

I reached for the towel on his shoulders. I wiped the sweat that came rolling down his face. Chase didn't move nor say anything. He just stood there staring at me.

"You should go take a shower and get changed already."

"You smell so nice." He replied.

"Are you listening to me?"

"Of course." But he just kept staring at me with his lopsided smile. I sighed and raised my eyebrows at him. His smile just became wider. Why does he have to be so cute? you sweet talker WHY?!

"Why are you here by the way?"

"You made me forget what I came here for."

I blushed again. Chase sure has a way with words.

"Whatever , you sweet talker!"

"Lunch is ready."

"Ok, I'll go down later. I'll just get dressed."

"Let's go down together. I'll just freshen up, wait for me inside my room."

"Ok, but you better hurry up!"

"Sure babe."

He just called me babe again. For some reason that made my heart beat fast. Maybe I should get myself checked , I might be getting arrhythmia.

After getting dressed , I decided to tie my hair in a pony tail. Applied some powder then I headed out to to Chase's room. I slowly opened the door , just in case he's already getting dressed. He's still in the bathroom, I can hear the splash of water from the shower.
