"Mark..." you whispered to yourself, fear and concern building up quickly inside of you. Dark needed to stop this, it wasn't okay. You were probably going to have to stop him yourself.

"Dark, why is Mark here? He has never done anything wrong in this whole situation. I am the one who did something and like I said before, you should be punishing me, not Mark." you said to Dark, trying to be stern with him. He looked from you to Mark then back over at you, his dark eyes softening just a tad.

"Okay... I'll let him go. But, on one condition." he said eerily.

There was always a catch, wasn't there?

You sighed and responded.

"What could you possibly want from me this time?" you asked, obviously annoyed with him and his antics.

"If he really wants to be let go," he started as he looked over at Mark with a huge evil grin on his face. Then, he looked to you.

"-then he has to watch you die." he said firmly. The grin stayed on his face as he watched Mark break down even more. The tears just poured down from his beautiful brown eyes and you couldn't stand to see Mark like this.

"Isn't there another way that you could let him go? Just look at him, you've already damaged him enough!" you yelled at Dark. He was making you mad, now.

"Actually, there is another wa- never mind." Dark began to say, but quickly ended the sentence. You were curious as to what he was going to say.

"What? What's the other way? It's gotta be better then killing me for Christ's sake." you said to him, obviously demanding an answer to what he had said.

"Oh, trust me, you wouldn't want to do this. Most people would die rather than do this any day. Just forget about it, you'll have to die." he said uncomfortably, slowly walking over to a table with various weapons to choose from to kill you with.

He didn't want to talk about it anymore. And that's why you still urged an answer out of him.

"Please, Dark. What's the other option?" you begged him. He looked unsure of himself and he nervously scratched the back of his neck.

"Well- just, uh... Never mind! There's is no other possible way!" he screamed, sounding very uncomfortable about the situation now. His sudden screaming startled you.

"Dark... you don't have to yell. Just please, let Mark go if you really have no other option. I don't want you to do this to him. He didn't even do anything to you!" you pleaded. He actually calmed down a bit after he thought over what you said.

"Fine, you want to know what the other option is? Staying with me. Forever. Once in a while we would visit Hell to see how my father and the rest of my family of demons are doing. You would live by my rules considering you would be under my care." he rushed out, finally answering your question.

He let out a breath and looked over at you without an evil grin on his face for once. He was waiting for you to say something.

You gulped and looked over at Mark. You could tell he was a little shocked at what Dark had said, but he motioned for you to take the offer of staying with Dark.

You knew you couldn't have Mark watch you die. You had been best friends ever since you could remember, and Mark really cared about you. So, you did what you had to do.

You accepted the offer to go with Dark.

"Alright then. I'll stay with you forever." you said while staring him straight in the eye. He was shocked but he slowly nodded and turned to face Mark. He walked over and untied him, and Mark got off the table. The man looked at you and smiled the saddest smile you had ever seen.

"Dark, let me say goodbye to him. Please." you practically whispered out to him, sad to say goodbye to him
forever.

Dark hesitated but eventually agreed and untied you. You jumped off the table, ran over to Mark, and hugged him tightly. You were going to miss him even though you were going to be staying with an exact lookalike of him.

But as you knew, it wasn't actually him. It was a guy that you hadn't quite figured out yet.

You were determined to find out as much about him as you could. Mark hugged you back, but tighter. You could hear him crying again, and you pulled away from the hug and held his face in your hands.

"Mark, I'll be fine. Don't you worry about me, okay?" you said softly as you wiped away his tears.

He nodded and hugged you one last time before Dark had to send him away. Mark walked out of the door and that was the last time you saw him. For now, at least.
