You looked longingly at the door for a few minutes after Mark had left. You hated seeing him leave, and you missed him already. You couldn't have him stay and watch you die, though. He wouldn't have been able to take it.
You sighed and turned to look at Dark. He had a look of guilt on his face, but when he saw that you had looked over at him, that look vanished. He replaced it with a look of power and confidence. He then started talking to you.
"Well, lets not waste any time. I better show you the rest of the house now. It would be best for you to get to know your surroundings quicker." he said sternly.
He then walked over to the door that Mark had walked out of and opened it. He then motioned for you to exit. You sighed again, and exited through the door.
You walked down a small, carpeted corridor and found yourself in a bigger room with a couch, a TV, two end tables, and a chair that looked just like the couch except... well, it was a chair.
"This is the living room, as you can probably tell. Over there is the front door, not that you'll be using that anytime soon other than when you leave with me, and there's the stairs to the second floor." he motioned towards the door and then to the stairs. "Over there is the opening to the kitchen and the dining room. And finally, there's a small bathroom in the first door to your left in the hallway that we just walked out of." Dark stopped waving his hands around and ended his explanation. You nodded once in a while to show that you understood where it was and stuff like that. Then he took you upstairs.
"So this first room on the right here is going to be your room. We can take you back to your house so you can get everything you'll need. The room just down the hallway from it is my room. Don't ever go in there." he said that last part a lot more sterner than the first parts, so he obviously meant it.
"And here on the left is another bathroom that I'll allow you to use as your own. So that's about everything you'll need to know about. Now if you'll come back downstairs, I can take you back to your house so you can get your stuff." he explained.
He showed you every room on the upper floor except for one. It was on the left side next to the bathroom. Why didn't he show it to you?
"Dark?" you asked while you looked suspiciously at the door concealing what was inside the mystery room.
"What?" he said as he followed your gaze towards the door. He then tensed up and answered you very quickly.
"Oh! Uh- there's nothing in that room. J-Just, um, storage. But no need to look inside!" he stammered out nervously. You were curious but you weren't gonna push it any farther.
You left it alone and went downstairs with Dark so you could go back home to get your crap. He walked you out to his car and unlocked it so both of you could get in. You were surprised he had all this stuff and he wasn't even human. Well, he was but not on the inside.
"How long have you been up here?" you asked as he started the car and started to drive off down the street.
"A little over a week since I had to find Mark in order for him to do all that stuff for me." he responded.
"So you've only been here for a week or so and you already have a house and a car? How does that work?" you asked, dumbfounded.
He chuckled a little bit, "My father automatically gave me the things he knew I was gonna need so I could survive up here." he said, glancing to look at you for a second before putting his eyes back on the road.
"Oh." was all you said back.
You looked out the window and watched as the environment around you whizzed by. You thought about how you were going to be able to live with another person, let alone that person being a man.
It was going to be hard, but you were doing it to keep someone else from suffering. You would much rather have yourself suffer then have Mark suffer. But what if you ended up having the best time of your life instead of the worst?
