"There are some things I can do and some things I can't do. You see, in this dimension, most people do good things, and this is a good place. That basically entitles me to do good things as well," he started, pacing the length of the room all the while. "When I finally become a full human up here, I will be able to do all the bad things I please. Like I said before, I cannot do them down under considering those people are my family, and I would never hurt their troubled souls. That's why I came up here and made my "good" side do all the fun for me." he smiled evilly, as he stopped pacing and grabbed Mark's shoulders, giving them a squeeze. You just shook your head and sighed.
"Of course, I'm still able to enjoy it, but not as much as I would if I were the one committing the crime. I mean, what kind of bad guy are you if you don't enjoy the dirty work?" Dark questioned thoughtfully. You thought about what he said for a while, and you soon understood what he was trying to say.
"I'm very sorry, mister, but you can't use Mark to do all this bad stuff. I know how much you supposedly "enjoy" it, but he's going to end up getting in trouble for doing things he was told to do by an entity that the police can't even see." you declared, rolling your eyes and giving Dark a disappointed look.
"My dearest, you better believe that people can see me around here. They make fun of my appearance and call me this weird name. Oh, how do you say it? Emo- I think, I'm not sure." he pondered, his dark eyebrows knitting together while trying to remember what they had called him. You looked at Dark and you had to agree with whoever made fun of him. From your point of view, he just looked like some goth, emotional guy who doesn't get along with everybody else. You were starting to feel bad for him but you knew you couldn't do that. One reason being that he liked seeing people die for a living, and who in their right mind likes that?
What if that's not his fault, though?
What if Dark was once a regular human being before Mark came along, but was always destined to be his darker, more evil other half? What if he died abruptly just so he could take the spot of being the evil half of Mark? Instead of being sent to Heaven, his spirit was sent to Hell, and maybe that's how he became a demon who lived in the Underworld.
You were so confused and you absolutely craved more answers, but you knew you would have to think about it later.
You started to pick up pieces of broken furniture off the living room floor after the smaller pieces of miscellaneous decor were cleaned up. Mark went into the kitchen to clean up the broken dishes and such. Dark came over and helped you flip the couch back over. Then, he was off again, explaining what happened in here for the past week that he had held Mark captive.
