As you and Dark stood there in the moonlight, you looked over at him. Instead of seeing a big smile, you saw him frowning. He took his hand out of yours and suddenly started to speak.

"We should go since it's dark. I don't want anything bad to happen." he said quickly as he turned and started walking towards the car. You were a little confused by what he said.

"What do you mean? Nothing bad is going to happen if you're here to protect me." you said. He stopped and turned slightly. He shook his head.

"N-never mind what I said. Just c'mon, we better get home." he said more sternly and you didn't want to push his buttons so you followed him and got in the car. The ride home was silent and when you arrived at Dark's house he got out of the car and didn't say a word to you. You watched him go inside and you hurried up and got out. You didn't like being by yourself in the dark outside. You ran inside and shut the door behind you. You were determined to find out why he had these sudden mood changes all the time. You heard some moving around upstairs so you walked up the steps and you walked down the hallway to his closed bedroom door. The moving around was coming from in there. You breathed out and knocked on the door. The moving around stopped and it was silent. You then spoke up.

"Dark, I don't know what's going on. You could be in the best mood ever and then you suddenly start acting weird again. Why do you do that?" you questioned him. Silence. Just as you were about to give up and leave, his door opened. He looked up at you and you didn't know what emotion you saw in his eyes. Sadness? Guilt maybe?

"My dad. My dad makes me change my emotions. I'll be having a good time and then I remember the conversations him and I have had. I remember how he had told me to be who I was meant to be. Darkiplier. And I am! I'm still Dark but... but sometimes I don't want to be a horrible person. Yea, I still have some fun when I misbehave because that's what I'm supposed to do. And I'll admit... I like hurting people." he said quietly. You looked at him, a little shocked but you understood. But that last part...

"But those people I hurt and those people I kill, they don't mean anything to me! I don't know them, I promise! But I can't go and NOT hurt them. It's my job. And when we were out there and I said that I forget the problems my father and I have... I remembered the problems. I remembered them and my
emotions took over. I remembered that I haven't killed or hurt somebody for a while. I remembered that if I didn't do it soon, he would put me back to sleep. I didn't want to hurt you though so that's why I wanted to leave before my emotions REALLY took over. I'm so sorry (Y/N)." he said. He was spilling everything out to you. You were taken aback by everything he had said since it was too much but you finally pieced it together. You looked at him with a sad smile on your face.

"Dark, it's not your fault, it's your father's. You shouldn't be saying sorry to me. I respect that you don't want to hurt me. And... and if you have to go hurt somebody... just, just tell me before you go. I don't want to wake up and have you missing. And if you get in any kind of trouble, I'll help you out of it. I'm here for you Dark." you said. By then, you had taken both of his hands in yours. You saw tears falling from his face onto the floor. He wiped them away to the best of his ability and he looked back up at you with a small smile. At least he was smiling. He pulled you into a hug and he buried his face into your neck. You wrapped your arms around his torso and held on to him tightly. You heard him sniffling and you knew he was crying harder. There's one trait that he inherited from Mark. He's still a softy.

"I just don't want to hurt you." he choked out. You smiled and felt the tears streaming down your face as well.

"I know." you whispered. The two of you stood there for a while and until Dark finally pulled away. He took your hands back in his and he looked down.

"Would it be weird if I asked you to lay down with me tonight? Like the night the you took care of me because of my knife wound?" he asked in a hushed voice. You smiled slightly and looked up at him.

"It wouldn't be weird, Dark. Of course I'll lay down with you." He smiled and he led you into his room. You couldn't see what it looked like since it was pitch black but you could see what it looked like in the morning. You both found his bed and he laid down first. You crawled onto the bed next to him and he wrapped his arms around you from behind just like the night he got injured. He nuzzled his face into your neck and breathed out through his nose. You remembered him doing that and you giggled.

"Dark, stop it." you giggled and he chuckled deeply.

"Okay, if you say so." he said and the last thing you remember was you wrapped up in Dark's arms as the two if you drifted off to sleep.
