Before your daughter, Avery, was born you were always the person to be wide awake at 3 am. You loved being up during the night because you thought you'd get more done and no one could judge you through your window because everyone is asleep.
Once Avery came, you were out like a light hours before 3 am. Having a daughter tired you physically and mentally, and Patrick not being around that much didn't help at all. He was either always on tour, or at the studio, but you didn't mind most days because he was doing what he loves.
It was around 3 am when you heard Avery's cry over the baby monitor beside your bed. Before you could even move a muscle, the body next to yours started moving and left the bed to Avery's room. You lightly smiled to your self, happy that Patrick was taking the sleepless night tonight.
Around an hour later, Patrick wasn't back beside you in bed. You started getting worried, thinking that something happened to the both of them while you were asleep. After a few more minutes of worrying, you decided to get up and see what Patrick was doing.
As you neared your daughters bed room door, you heard faint singing coming from inside. When you approached the door and peeked your head inside, the sight you withheld would make anyone's ovaries and hearts burst. A huge grin was painted across your face as you saw Patrick rocking back and forth in the rocking chair with Avery in his arms, singing her a lullaby you recognized.
"Honey is for bees, silly bear" Patrick sang quietly to Avery. "Besides there's jelly beans everywhere. It's not what it seems in the land of dreams, but don't worry your head and just go to sleep." Patrick hadn't noticed you leaning against the door frame until he finished his song.
When he looked into your eyes that were trained on him, he sleepily smiled to you. He got up from the rocking chair to put the small 8 month old back in her crib. You shuffled your way slowly and quietly over to the two of them. Patrick was lightly stroking Avery's cheek. Her cheeks looked like lighter cherry blossoms. Soft, but rounded and plump.
You leaned your head on Patrick's shoulder, your heavy eyelids slowly closing on you. A soft kiss was planted on your forehead, and before you knew it, your feet were swept off the ground. Patrick carried your tired body back into your bedroom, and placed you on your side of the bed before going over
to his. His warm arms wrapped around your torso and his head buried into your neck. You felt his shallow breath against the back of your neck, giving you a slight sense of security before being taken back into dreamland.~A/N: I'm sorry if I didn't get the lyrics right. I was just going by them off the top of my head, and didn't feel like looking them up.
ANYWAY. Thank you so much for reading this far. Stay tuned, my friends.
