I laid on my bed as I waited for my roommate and brother, Andy, to get back from recording at the studio with his band, Fall Out Boy. Me and Andy have always been close. When Fall Out Boy was just starting out, my parents didn't like the idea of it at all. They didn't support him in anything concerning the band because they knew it wouldn't get far at all. As for me, I was all for it. I was the only one to believe in my big brother and his band.
The door to the apartment squeaked open then closed a second later. There were footsteps going around the main room of the apartment. Then stopped then started up again every couple seconds.
"Avery? Are you home?" Andy's voice echoed through the apartment. I grinned at the sound of his voice, rolling of my bed to go meet him in the living room.
"Hey Andy. Why are you home so early?" I greeted him while making my way to the couch.
"Patrick started having really bad back and shoulder aches, so we stopped early. I actually have to go take care of him at his apartment. Do you wanna come with?"
"If it's not a bother, I'd love to help you."
                              ---At Patrick's Apartment---
"You have the key to his apartment, right Ave'?" Andy asked me asked we hiked our way up the stairwell. I dug my hand into my pockets to take out my set of keys. Hopefully Patrick's key is on here somewhere. If it isn't, we'll probably have to break the door down.
We finally got to the floor Patrick's place was on and walked over to his door. There are so many keys on my key ring, I had to search for them before I actually found the right one. Entering the key into the lock, I turned the key and opened the door.
"Patrick? Where are you buddy? We bought cereal!" Andy's high pitched voice bounces of the walls of Patrick's apartment.
There was a moan coming from his bedroom. Was he hurting that bad? There's not much that could hurt him that badly and all of a sudden. Maybe he just pulled a muscle while playing guitar today or yesterday.
"I'll go check on him, Andy." I walked passed him, making my way to Patrick's room. I turned the corner and grinned at the sight I withheld. Patrick was curled up into a ball, with his big comforter covering him at all angles. "Hey, Pat. You doin' okay?"
He jumped a little bit from my voice, probably not expecting me to be in his door. I walked over to the side of his bed and tugged on his comforter. More moaning came from under the covers as I kept tugging. Maybe I woke him up?
"Okay, jeez. I'm up Avery. Please stop tugging." Patrick mumbled as he slapped my hands away. He sat up, the comforter fell off of him. His shirt looked tighter then it should be. What is that about? I put my hand on Patrick's shoulder to turn him, and the sight on his back puzzled me. Feathers were sticking out from his shirt, and some poking into it, I think.
"Patrick? Can you do me something?" Patrick nodded his head, turning his head to look at me. "Can you take off your shirt?" The color on Patrick's face turned to a deep Crimson. I gave him a look of reassurance before he turned away from me and did as he was told.
Once his shirt was removed, big feathers sprung out from his back. Are these feathers actually... Wings? I slowly reached out my hands to examine whatever was on my friends back. I ran my hands through the silky objects that were before me. Following each one, I felt they connected at the same spot. Patrick... Really grew wings...
I backed away from the bed, bumping into the night stand that was behind me. My eyes dilated and my breathing quickened. What has happened to Patrick? Was this why his back was hurting before? Patrick must have heard my breathing quicken, because in seconds he turned his body around to face me. Patrick looked at me like I was some delicate flower caught out in a storm. He wanted to save me from what was happening, but he didn't know what I was reacting to.
                              "Ave'? What's wrong?"
                              "Patrick... Y-you have wings..."
Patrick's eyebrows furrowed at me, and the look in his eye said that I was crazy. I'm not crazy. The things on his back are real. They felt so real. Patrick chuckled a bit and reached his hand behind his back to try and see what I was talking about. As soon as his hand touched the top of the limb, his face lost all color.
I wanted to run from him. Run from what ever was in front of me, but I couldn't. Patrick was still a friend of ours, and I could abandon him with whatever is happening to him.
I looked in fear at Patrick. He was shaking, tearing up, and holding his head in his hands. There has to be a reason why this has happened to Patrick.
"'Trick, whatever is happening right now, we will get through it. We will find out why this is happening, okay? You'll be fine." I sat on the bed next to Patrick. His body fell into my arms and I wrapped my arms around him, trying to calm him down.
I think I'm gonna slowly update this book with the imagines I wrote over the summer. And this one... I wrote it SOOOOO long ago.
Anyway, I'm really tired and my legs hurt like hell. Just... Sophomore year has been pretty amazing so far, but I'm starting to lose interest. The only class I ABSOLUTELY love is English because I have my best friend in that class, and I absolutely love the teacher (probably a little to much, honestly).
I love you guys! Stay strong, stay alive, and stay you.
