Y/M/N- Your male name (for anyone who's not a male)

"Jay! What're you doing, Princess?" I called to my 6 year old niece. Today was probably the only day in the month I'd be able to see her. Me and Patrick have been extremely busy lately with our work, giving us barely any free time.

"High School Musical!" Jay yelled from the living room. The sound of the tv slowly made its way to the kitchen, making me hear everything that's going on. From the sound of it, she's watching the second one, I think around the part where Gabrielle leaves, maybe.

"Except when I talk to you, I don't know who I'm talking to anymore!"

Yup, exactly the part. Gabrielle at this point is yelling at Troy for not being there for her or the team. I remember watching this movie with my friends all those years ago, but they only watched it because they were invited to a party. My elementary school friends didn't want to be seen doing anything that was considered girly. I don't know why they considered that movie girly, though.

I got up from the kitchen table, and walked into the living room to watch part of the movie with Jay. Honestly, the acting wasn't really that bad for a Disney movie.

"I'm just trying to catch up with it all," Troy said to Gabrielle, trying to make her not go. I grinned as the movie played on. I probably knew the entire script to these movies, and I'm not living that down.

"Me, too. Because summer's happening, and I'm going to go find it. But I'll see you in September, Troy." I mouthed Gabrielle's line. The music started playing after that, and really, I started singing my ass off. Who wouldn't?

" Gotta say what's on my mind.
Something about us Doesn't seem right these days. Life keeps getting in the way Whenever we try, somehow the plan Is always rearranged," I sang slowly, getting the attention of my niece, who seems a little startled by my sudden outburst. I just smiled at her, and continued to sing my heart out.

Half way through the song, Patrick came home and walked in on me in front of the tv with my niece no where to be seen. He smiled, set his guitar down and joined me when it mattered most.

"What about us? What about everything we've been through?" Patrick sang with a smile on his face. My smile grew wider as I turned to him and sang the next line, slowly walking towards him.

"What about trust?"

"You know I never wanted to hurt you!"

"And what about me?!"

"What am I supposed to do!"

"I gotta leave, but I'll miss you..."

At this time, Patrick and I had no space between us. A small smiled spread across his face. His calloused hand went to my scruffy jawbone, and moved his thumb around. My cheeks started to heat up a little bit, making me tangle my hands in some of Patrick's exposed hair. The song from the movie continued as we looked into each other's eyes. His small frame had to gaze up at mine since he was so short.

"I love you, Y/M/N. No matter how many people hate us being together," Patrick whispered so only I could hear him. My smile widened, my lips making contact with his forehead.

"No matter how many people judge two grown men singing a duet of High School Musical. I love you, babe." Patrick giggled, placing his head right in my heart.

"No matter what, love."

"EEWWWW!! Uncle Y/M/N, stop being so icky! I was actually trying to watch this before you came in here and I couldn't hear it!" Jay yelled from the hallway connecting the rest of the rooms in the house.

"Sorry, sorry. Me and Patrick will be in the other room, Jay. Okay?" She nodded her head and sat down in front of the tv once again. I smiled at her and then at Patrick, intertwining our hands, and dragging him into another room of the house.

God I don't think this was as good as I wanted it to be...
