Important authors note at the end.

A week ago, Patrick Stump was offered something no one would refuse. Well, a lot would refuse it if they weren't aspiring musicians. It was something he and his band had been dreaming of since they left high school. A record deal. But this wasn't just any record deal; it was a record deal with one of the top companies in the business.

The thing is, Patrick hasn't been sure if he should take it. Yes, it's something he's been dreaming of for a while, but he's also happy with how his life is right now. If he were to take the deal, everything would change. He'd have to fly out to L.A. Almost immediately, and wouldn't return for a long while. This boy would have to leave everything behind. Everything he's know since a child. His parents, his city, and his best friend/girlfriend, Y/N.

Y/N and Patrick have known each other for as long as they can remember. They went through everything together, and he didn't want that to change. He wanted to stay with her forever, but because of this deal, it may not happen. If he takes it, they won't see each other for who knows how long. If he takes it, he'd be ending their relationship.

Now, Y/N was all for Patrick following his dreams and becoming a rock star, even if that means not seeing him for a bit. She didn't want him throwing everything away for her, and she knew that he would most likely stay for her.

It was late on the Saturday he was supposed to give the company his answer. All day, he had been with Y/N, trying to get his mind off of the decision, only it didn't work. He had been thinking about the future all day. His future with Y/N because he had decided not to take the deal. He had yet to tell Y/N and the company he's staying, and he wanted to tell her first.

The two of them sat on the couch in his living room, watching a rerun of Degrassi, limbs intertwined. Patrick wasn't paying attention to the teenage drama on the tv, though. He had been staring at Y/N and playing with her beautiful hair. He watched your face change emotion every few minutes because of the show, and smiled at the comments you made every once in awhile.

"Zig needs to buck up and realize Maya really loves him, but needs to follow her dreams," Y/N commented with a sigh. Patrick furrowed his eyebrows. He had not realized that was the storyline for the current episode. Ironic how he was gonna tell her he wasn't following his dreams because he loved her too much.

"That reminds me, Love..." Patrick started, catching Y/N's attention. "I've decided on what to do about the record deal." Y/N shot up, untangling their limbs, and looked at him with wide eyes.

"And??" She asked with a smile on her face. "You're taking it, right?"

Patrick frowned. "No, I'm staying here in Chicago, with you."

Y/N's smile vanished, her eyes looking at him with confusion. She knew he'd do this, and wished she didn't have to do what she was about to do.

"Patrick, I can't have you do this. This is your dream-"

"Y/N, you're my dream," Patrick cut his girlfriend off.

"No, Patrick. I'm not. We're so young, we don't know if this, us, will last forever. You shouldn't give up on your real dream to be with me for an unknown amount of time."

"Babe, please..." Patrick's eyes filled with tears. He was hoping you'd be ecstatic about his decision to stay with you. He looked at you, pleading with you to accept his answer. You got up from his couch, looking away from him. It's now or never.

"Patrick, I hate to do this..."

"Please..."

"Patrick," Y/N whispered, turning to the man who's world was about to be shattered, "we're done... I can't have you throwing away your shot because of me."

Tears escaped Y/N's eyes as she ruined two worlds with two words.

"Good bye Patrick. I look forward to seeing your face everywhere..."

Y/N's lips curved upwards slightly before leaving the broken boy. He couldn't move or take his eyes off the spot where Y/N's eyes used to be.

Little did he know, she did him a favor. If he had stayed in Chicago, hell knows what would have happened to the two of them. They could have broken up a week or two later, or been with each other for the rest of time. But now he's in the big leagues, having concerts nearly every year with his world famous band. Not a day goes by where he doesn't think about her. The girl who cared more about his future than the future they possibly had together.

Hey friends, it's been awhile. A long while, actually. I have some news that I thought I should tell you guys. I'm finally getting help with my possible anxiety/depression! It only took telling my parents 7 times for them to finally listen to me. It feels like 2017 may actually be my year for once (mostly because I'm gonna actually try and get my life together.)

Also.... I have to tell you guys this. I may not be writing anymore. I just don't feel as inspired as I used to feel 2 years ago when I started this book. I'm also not that into Fall Out Boy like I used to be, and maybe that's because not much has happened with them this past year, I don't know. I'm sorry guys. I don't want to be giving you guys shit content when I'm not feeling it.

I'll still be around, though. Maybe I'll get into another fandom I can write for. There's always that possibility.

I think, maybe, when I'm up for it and can actually think of a good story line, I'll update this book with a new imagine. As for Jet Pack Blues, I might have to end that book... I always knew how I want big plot things to go, but I never knew how to get there.

But yeah, look out for any rare updates that may happen with this book. I'm sorry to do this, I really am. I hope you all have a great 2017. Stay strong. Be brave. Don't wait for people. Stay in school.

I love you guys! I'll see you!
