POV: Eliot
I might've been telling Sofia I was "still thinking about it" but I'm not. I'm going. Obvi. I'm stretching the suspense. It'll be like a half surprise. Yk? Anywayyyssss. I'm on a FaceTime call with Sasha and Xzavier. They're friends with Sofia and sit at her table. They also know about me going to the game tonight. I think they have their suspicions about my feelings towards her but they haven't budged, which I'm grateful for."No no no! You have it all wrong Sash. The skirt looks better than the dress. Not too casual, not too formal." Xzavier yelled through the phone. Him and Sasha were arguing about what i should wear. Though they both agreed "my closet has a lot of potential", whatever that means. "Ok fine but which top?" Sasha gave up with arguing an out the bottoms and moved on to the top. "I was thinkingggg...a oversized tee?" Xzavier said. I was just sitting there bringing heaps of cloth out of my closet and dresser for them to see. I personally find this funny, but don't tell them. Ok?
"It's gonna be hot as hell, so no." Is all Sasha said before tell me to show her my tanks and crop tops. I might not be rich with a lot of clothes, but the stuff I do have are cute. I hope. I was holding my phone up for them to get a good view. They saw my options and started the debate. As I was still holding up my phone waiting for them to make a choice, Andy walked in. I muted them and set my phone down. Sure we could still here their bickering, but they couldn't hear ours.
"What's got you all smileyyyy?" Andy asked in a childish tone walking over to sit next me on my bed. "Im...going to the game." I said nodding looking down. "Oh and whoooo's gonna be there?" He asked nudging me on my shoulder. I scoff at that and he puts his hands up on defense. "I can drive you there, ok." I let out a long sigh saying yes in the end. I'm great full to him, though he doesn't need to know that.
He left and they two finally chose my outfit. A cute black pleated skirt, argyle tights, a basic tank top, and my trusty docs. I only wear two types of shoes: High top converse or Chelsea Doc Martens. I head out of my room to see Andy waiting on the couch with dad. My dad gives me some long "serious" conversation about being safe, if there's an after party I can go just tell him, ect ect. We get in Andy's car and he starts laughing to himself as he drives. Probably about our dad giving him secondhand embarrassment. We got to the parking lot and got out.
We walked through the school, Andy deciding to get popcorn (he loves popcorn). We got in the stands getting ready for the game to start.
After the game started it's been aight. We're winning, the cheerleaders are cheering, and people are screaming. It's an average game. They are on a break right now and everyone is just walking around. I spot Sofia, she's walking and talking. She turns and spots me. She runs towards me up the the wall around the stands. We smile at each other.
"I thought you said you weren't coming!" She exclaims. "I never said I wasn't coming." I said looking away from her. She rolls her eyes and sighs, but she's smiling the whole time. "Well since your here, how are you enjoying it? Everything you though it would be and more?" She asked with a big smile. "Everything and more is definitely a way to describe it." I said making a quizzical face. Someone announces that they have is about to start again. "Bye!" Is all she says before waving and running off back to the group of cheerleaders. I rest my head on my hand and sigh. "So that's who you came for, huh?" I look over and see Andrew. "It doesn't matter Andy. She doesn't like me. She's straight." I say looking back ahead. "Whatever. You should be a little more open minded. You haven't asked her have you?" I shake my head. "How am I supposed to do that?" I ask pushing myself off the railing. I start walking to where we were sitting before and plop down. "Be slick about it. Don't push it into a conversation. If it comes up, try. But if not, don't. It's that simple." He says sitting down next to me. I make an irritated face and sigh. "I'll just get over her. It's fine." I say waving my hands. Andrew looks at me but doesn't say anything, he just looks back at the game.
It's over now and we're leaving. I feel a hand on my shoulder and jump looking back. "I feel like I'm getting déjà vu." Sofia says with a smile on he face. I sigh and relax. "Yeah same. Anyway, what's up?" I ask continuing to walk. She stands beside me. "Can you give me a ride home?" She asks. Andrew clears his throat. "Of course I can. Since it's my car. Hm?" He looks at me. "Yes yes we- or he" I look at him "can give you a ride home." I say looking back at her. "Thanks!" She says with a big smile
Andy gets in the car first and as I go to the passenger side in the front he locks it. He gives me a look and shoos me to the backseat. I open the door for Sofia. "After you." I say in a posh voice. "Oh why, thank you." She says teasing back. I get inside after her and close the door. "You didn't have to sit back here with me you know." She says looking ahead. It almost looks like she's blushing, but it's probably just the street lights in the dark. "Of course is sit back here with you. I'm a gentleman- or a gentlelady?" I question looking up at the sky with my hand on my chin. I can see Andy saying "smooth" in the mirror but I ignore it. "Such a gentleman. Or a gentlelady." Sofia says laughing.
After a bit we're at her house. She gets out of the car and I roll my window down. She bends down so her face is close the mine. "Thank you for coming tonight." She tells me looking me straight in the eyes. I can feel me face get hot. "Of course I'd come. Your my friend." I say I'm a sweet voice. "Well thank you. Friend." She says. "And thanks for the ride Andrew!" She says walking away. "Anytime!" He yells back to her. She waves and says a little "bye", then she walks in her house.
We get home and everything seems calm. We walk in the house, say "hi" to our dad, walk upstairs. As we search the top of the stairs Andy attacks me. "You must really like her!" He squeals. "Keep it down. I don't want you and dad bombarding me with questions about my love life." I push him off me. I walk into my room and plop down on my bed, Andy still standing at my doorframe. "Whatever. I'm going to sleep. Night. Love you." He says walking off. "Night night. Love you too!" I scream as he goes to his room.
I sit up and push my knees to my chest. I sit looking ahead of me, thinking. I like her, don't I? Oh gosh I think. I push my head into my knees and roll onto my side. What if she is straight. I have to ask her somehow. Somehow. Because it right now, my attempts have been pathetic. If you could even call them attempts. I must really like her, huh?
Hey guys. Sorry this took so long to get out, I was having a lot of trouble writing this for some reason. I'm not the biggest school sports person so thinking up some stuff took a while. School started and my birthday was too days ago too, so that held back when I could finish this. I hope this is okay. Give constructive feedback please. Thanks for reading
Anyyywayyyysssss....
