POV CHANGE - THIRD PERSON
Robin is being dragged into another small metal room again, arms fighting off the Russian soldiers who hold her, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!" Her throat croaks as she's thrown to the floor to face to face with a passed out, bleeding Steve. It's then that she notices someone is missing.
"Ruby.." she breaths out, "WHERE IS SHE? WHERE IS SHE YOU BASTARDS!" They say nothing, simply stare as she wiggles herself closer to Steve, "Steve! Steve! Hey Steve!"
A man walks through the shadows, face stern as he stares at the girl before him, "What did you do to him? WHAT DID YOU DO-" her face is slapped before any answers are revealed. They're dragged into chairs like rag dolls and no matter how much Robin protests, they keep poking at her and tied her up, rope stabbing into her stomach uncomfortably.
"I think your friend might need a doctor." He's sadistically smiling at her now, eyes dark, "good thing! We have the very best."
When they start to laugh at her everything comes back, all that's happened. The anger she held back in every English class she'd be made fun of in, every time she was shoved or punched or had gum thrown in her hair. It all bottles up and is released as she spits in the man's eye."You're going to regret that suchka."
She doesn't regret it once.
If they've done anything to her best friend, she'll do much worse.***
They'd been in there for what seemed like hours before Steve finally woke up, the sound of Robin's pleading screams buzzing in his ears.
"Hey.. would you stop yelling?" His words are slurring, but Robin is just happy he's alive.
"Steve! Steve, oh my god!"
That buzz in his ears was getting worse by the second."Steve are.. are you okay?" She leans over as much as she can, hoping he can hear her after the damage to his face, "my ears are ringing and I can't really breathe but and my eye feels like it's about to pop out of my skull.." he complains, rightfully so, "but.. you know.. apart from that I'm doing pretty good."
"Well.." she chuckles through the pain, "the good news is they're calling you a doctor."
Steve looks around through blurred vision, "is this his place of work? Love the vibe.." he notices the emptiness, "where.." he can't seem to get the words out, "where's Ruby?""They uh.. they still have her." Robin feels like she's choking on her own anxiety, bile rising in her throat at the thought of why they're taking so long with her friend.
Something inside of her worried that maybe this was just another form of torture. That they'd reveal they killed Ruby just to spite them, or because they gave the Russians no answers in interrogation.
Either way she didn't like it."But uh.. listen to me okay? I have a plan!" She fumbles out, "we- we could go get her."
Steve nods along, confused, but trusting the Buckley girl.
"Do you see that table over there? To your right?" He moves his head to the left, "no! To your other right!"He comedically moves again, a small "oh," escaping his chapped lips, "ok uh so you see those scissors?"
"Uhuh."
"Ok so I think that if we move at the same time.. we can get to them."
Steve nods along, somehow understanding her plan under the influence of all of his pain.
"And then maybe I could kick the table and knock them into your lap okay?" The popular boy nods in confirmation.
