The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, nope just kidding this is no fairytale. I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. I got up and headed downstairs into the kitchen of my restaurant. I made two cups of coffee and then took one of them upstairs. And knocked on the door of my mom's room.

"Luna, are you up yet we open in an hour. I have coffee for you." I said through the door. Luna groaned and I walked in the door as she sat up and smiled at me.

"Good morning May. Are Megan and Jack here yet?" Luna said, smiling at me. I handed her the coffee and then shook my head. I then went back to my room and changed into my uniform. It was a green shirt that said starlight cafe on it and a pair of dark jean shorts. I then hear someone call my name from downstairs. I smiled knowing that Jack and Megan must have come in. I walked back downstairs and we got ready to open.

Once we had finally finished it was fifteen minutes till we opened for the day. I went into the back putting on my apron and my roller skates and Megan did the same. That was something that we did because we loved to skate and it made the kids that saw us happy. I opened the door and then put out the sign that said we were open.

Not five minutes later we started getting customers and Megan and I sat people down and took their orders while Luna and Jack were in the kitchen cooking. The bell on the door rang and I went to help the people sit down.

"Hello, just the four of you today?" I asked and one of the men nodded. Another one of them grabbed my arm and looked at me with a look that reminded me of someone who thought they saw a ghost.

"May that you?" The boy said he had to be about the same age as me but I had no idea how the hell he was.

"I am sorry but I think that you have the wrong person. So is it just the four of you or are you waiting for someone else?" I said pulling my arm away from him. The other man nodded and I led them over to a table handing them menus before returning to the door to help the next group.

"Hello, there oh welcome. So how many are there in your group today chief?" I asked the police chief who was Megan's and Jack's adopted fathers. He smiled at me and hugged me. I then led them over to a table and handed them the menus.

Suddenly there was a loud crying from the other side of the restaurant. I knew how it was and rushed over to see Maddison trying to calm down one of her girls. The two boy twins were sitting and drinking their juice nicely while. Addy was sleeping and her twin Cassy was crying. I picked her up and started bouncing her on my arm and she stopped crying.

"I will take the kids inside for naptime and you can have some time of quiet," I said and she nodded gratefully. I lead the boys into the back while carrying the girls and then I put them down for a nap in the beds that I had in the spare room for when I babysit them. When they had been put down for a rest I went out and helped the other customers.

When it was closing time and everyone was leaving. There was a girl that stumbled into the restaurant and she had a bruise on her face. It looked as if she had been beaten and I helped her into the kitchen and handed her an ice pack, ensuring no injuries needed medical attention. All of the sudden a woman rushed into the room with Jefferson the police chief.

"That's her, she is the one that attacked and kidnapped princess Rose." The woman said, looking at me with an evil grin. Jefferson laughed and smiled at me. His smile did not last once his eyes landed on the girl next to me.

"That is her she did it. She is my brother's girlfriend and she thinks that she can become queen if I am out of the picture. But she did not count on me knowing that a cop lives here. She might be only 19 but she is an excellent cop. So the second I got away from her I came right here." Rose said and smirked at her. She went in to hit her but I stepped in front and she hit me instead. I then pushed her to the ground and put her hands behind her back.

"Jefferson handcuffs, please. You are under arrest for child endangerment and child abuse you may have an attorney if you can not afford an attorney you will be provided one. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you." I said smirking at her. Just then the man from earlier rushed into the room and hugged Rose.

"Thank You so much for helping my sister. I can not thank you enough if there is anything I can do to repay you." He said. I smiled and then glanced at the clock.

"Oh actually, I have to go to work. If you could drop me off that would be great." I said he nodded and I ran upstairs changing into a pair of shorts and a tank top that said Blue button animal shelter. I then pulled on my sneakers and went downstairs. I got in the car with Rose and her brother.

When we got there Rose asked if she could come in and see the animals. I said I would give her a tour and we walked around seeing all of the animals and then she left. I went in and told Josey that I had finished feeding and cleaning the girls that weren't there. She smiled and thanked me for being so helpful.

I left and went into the parking lot to meet my uber that was supposed to take me home. Just then I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head. And then I felt forward and someone caught me. I could not tell who it was and then it all went black.
