The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 10

May's POV

I was typing on my computer fast, looking through all of the security footage trying to find out where he went after he left the building with her. That was a low blow even for the two of them put together.

I had already asked Jefferson to see if he could find out where he was staying but I knew that they would not be able to find them just like when they could not find me for weeks when he was abusing me if he does not want to be found you won't find him.

I finally picked up my phone and did the one thing that I had not wanted to ever do. I dialed Genevieve's number. I only had ten minutes left in the hour window they had given us and I did not want anything to happen to Lily so I pressed the call button.

After two rings someone answered the phone but it was not Geneva and that made me even angrier because it was the last person I wanted to talk to right now he should have taken care of this and left her so it would not have ended up here.

"James who the fuck do you want I need to talk to your bitch of a girlfriend before someone gets killed," I said through the phone. I was trying so hard to keep calm but I was not letting anyone I love get hurt again and I thought of Rose as a family so anyone important to her was important to me that meant I would save Lily no matter what it took.

"What the fuck are you talking about someone will get hurt what is going on," He said at this point I was pissed and I did not want to deal with this shit right now.

"I can not deal with this right now. PUT HER ON THE PHONE BEFORE I SEND SOMEONE OVER TO GET HER MYSELF!" I screamed into the phone and then I heard the phone being passed and Geneva giggling slightly as Luka walked in and looked at me worried probably for all the yelling.

"What's the wrong princess, something happened to your friends," She said, mocking me. I glared at her so hard even though I knew that she could not see me at all. I was pissed and she was not helping.

"Where the fuck is Lily. I know that you know where she is and I need to know where she is bitch" I said just managing not to scream through the phone again but if she mocked me again I would scream at her so loud that it would scare the living daylights out of that bitch.

"Ok I will tell you but there is one condition on getting her back. Well actually one for me and one for him. Are you willing to pay the price for her safe return" She said through the phone I heard her footsteps and from the soft voice that she was using I knew that she was trying to make sure that James did not hear her?

"What is this price that I must pay?" I said quietly so that Luka could not hear me from his place at the door. I heard her smirk as she said her next words.

"I want two hundred thousand dollars and the title of the duchess and he wants to talk to you" I looked over into the next room through the open door where Rose was crying. I knew that I had to do this for her no matter what it took. I would not let her lose someone that was this important to her.

"Where and when do you want to meet up for the exchange I can give you the money but the title of the duchess is not mine to give that belongs to my aunt and she would have to appoint it you would have to talk to her but I can vouch for you so that she is more inclined to let you inherit it," I said softly into the phone at this point I was on the verge of tears but I needed to stay put together.

"I will send you the address and we will meet in one hour, dress nicely and make sure that you come alone," She said and I just said ok and hung up the phone. I then walked over to my closet and picked out a light blue dress that fell just above my ankle and had small tank top sleeves.

I then put it in a dress and grabbed a pair of silver heels and some makeup and hair supplies. With that, I snuck out the back leaving a note that said...

I am going to get her back don't worry Rose I will always protect my family and you are part of that now see you all soon don't worry about me too much

I then jumped into my jeep and started driving. I arrived at the address that they had set ten minutes before it was time to meet so I went into the restroom and changed into the dress and did my hair and makeup.

I was terrified of what might happen but I was more worried about what was going to happen to Lily if I did not do this. I then walked into the assigned place which was a nice restaurant. I then walked up to the man at the door.

"Hello I am here to meet Axel and Geneva'' I said, trying my best not to shiver while saying their names. He nodded and led the way to a room that had one table set up in it and at that table sat Genevieve, Axel, and a tired-looking lily.

The man then left and I sat down across from the three of them in a chair and slid the briefcase of money across the table. Geneva looked into it and made sure that it was all accounted for. I looked at Lily worried and then decided to do something that I knew I was going to regret.

"Let her go and we can talk," I said in a demanding voice. I could see right away that Axel was pissed that I had ordered him to do something. I stood up and walked over to Lily helping her stand up. Just then Taffy burst into the room. I would have laughed at her outfit if this was not such an important situation.

She was wearing a bright pink dress that was way too puffy and had long sleeves she clearly did not was to be wearing it and I wondered why she was but then I remembered that I had a bunch of fabric in the back of the jeep that I was supposed to give to Luna and mot os it was pink so it must have been her way of camouflage.

"Taffy takes Lily and heads back to the palace. I have to talk to Axle for a moment. Oh and tell James that he should take a walk in the woods to calm down after he sees how badly his girl is beaten up" I said throwing Taffy the keys. I would have just arrested them or called Jefferson but I noticed that Axel was holding a gun.

Taffy must have noticed because she quickly ripped off the dress and picked up Lily covering her in the fabric and leaving the room. I gave them about three minutes as we stood then no one moved. I had hoped that by then that she could get into the jeep and get away, just at that moment I kicked the gun out of Axel's hand and ran.

I ripped the dress so that I could move easier and as I ran I took it off revealing the shorts and tank top that I was wearing under it. With that, I ran out into the woods that were by the restaurant. Thankfully the restaurant was in the middle of nowhere so it was easy to get lost in the woods thankfully I knew what to do in the woods and I knew these woods like the back of my hand.

As I ran I heard gunshots and felt one graze my side before I was able to get behind a tree and climb into it to hide. Thankfully they ran past me trying to find me. I took my shirt off leaving me in a sports bra and ripped it tying it around the world and sat on the branch leaning my head against the tree.

Taffy POV

I drove back to the palace in the jeep Lily did not look so good. She was too pale and the cut on her side suggested blood loss. I knew that she was going to be hiding in the woods because of what she had said so I was less worried than I was originally and I was kinda concerned. I hoped nothing happened to her before I could get back.

I parked and ran inside where I was greeted by everyone panicking. They set up a bed for Lily while the doctor checked her out and said that she would be ok. I wasn't paying attention. I had already started heading to my room.

I got into my room and put on a pair of cargo pants and a tank top. I then strapped my handguns to my legs and slung my shooting gun over my shoulder. I then went out the window so that no one would see me and got into the jeep.

"I am coming with you," Luka said and I jumped and I threw my shotgun into the back. I thought for a second but knew that there was no way to tell him that he could not come so I decided that I would bring him along. What's the worst that could happen?

"Ok, but you stay in the jeep when I go in to get her unless I say otherwise," I said and he nodded at me knowing now was not the time to argue with me.

We drove off toward our destination and when we got there I noticed that the car that Axel and Geneva took was not there anymore so I hoped that meant that they had given up on finding May and had just left. I got out of the car telling Luka to stay put and went to find May.
