The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 14

Mays POV

I woke up to the feeling of someone laying on my chest and holding my hand. I opened my eyes to see that I was in the hospital wing and Luka was holding my hand and laying on my chest. I smiled down at him and stroked my hand and threw his hair smiling softly. Then he sat up and seeing that I was awake he hugged me super tight.

"Hey, my handsome soon-to-be husband what exactly happened back there," I asked confused about why I had passed out. He looked down at me, his smile fading slightly.

"You were poisoned. Thankfully we had the antidote and you will be fine but we are still trying to figure out who it was that poisoned you," he said and I looked at him shocked. Who would poison me?

I knew that people wanted me dead but as far as I knew the people that wanted me dead were all too flashy and would want me to go out with a bang to make it noticeable. But then I thought about something and started to put the pieces together in my head slowly but surely.

"I see those gears turning in that head of yours May what are you thinking," Luka asked and I looked at him smiling slightly. I then kissed him on the lip quickly and looked at him.

"I want to know if there were any drugs in the king's system when he died. Now before you ask, I am not accusing the king of doing drugs, I think that someone killed him and made it look like an accident." I said and Luka nodded at me understanding what he was saying.

"I will have someone look into it as soon as possible. Do you think that whoever tried to poison you poisoned the king too?" Luka said and I nodded. I was sure that the king did not die of a heart attack. He was way too healthy and stubborn to pass that easily.

Something smells fishy about the whole thing. But the real question was if I was right, who wanted the king gone enough to kill him, and did no one catch them in the act? Someone must have seen something even if it was little and seemed unimportant. I knew that even the tiniest detail could be the difference between murder and accidental death.

Luka went to go talk to Rose and Lexi about testing my theory and I decided that I was going to get more rest so I laid back down and started to fall asleep as I saw Matt walk over and sit down next to me. I smiled knowing that I was safe and no one could get me because my brother was here and he would protect me with his life. Thinking about that and the fact that I was engaged I smiled as I fell asleep.

When I woke up I was looking into the bright blue eyes of a very adorable blond-haired blue-eyed Alice. She was sitting on the bed next to me smiling down at me and she hugged me as soon as she saw that I was awake.

"Hey Allie, why are you up so late?" I asked, looking over at the clock that read ten pm. I knew that she was supposed to be in bed hours ago.

"I had a bad dream that you got hurt and I wanted to make sure that you were ok. You are ok right?" She said and I smiled at her brightly.

"I am ok, would you like to sleep with me tonight," I asked and she nodded laying down next to me once I pulled back the covers. I then noticed that my brother was asleep in the chair next to my bed and Luka was asleep on the couch off to the side.

"May May, can you sing me a lullaby? Please" Alice asked and I nodded while singing an old lullaby that my mom used to sing to me before I went to bed at night before she passed. Soon Alice was asleep. I kissed her head and slowly fell asleep next to her smiling at her cuteness.

Alice's POV

I woke up next to May May and saw that she was still asleep. I then looked over and saw that mister Luka May Mays, soon-to-be husband, was starting to wake up. When he looked over and saw me he smiled. I smiled and waved at him and then I climbed out of bed and grabbed his hand. I then dragged him to the kitchen because I had a great idea but I needed help from someone who was allowed to use the oven and was tall enough to get the ingredients.

"Where are we going little one?" he asked and I gave him a massive smile and told him my secret plan. He smiled and picked me up, bringing me to the kitchen and helping me tie an apron on.

May's POV

I woke up and saw that Matt was sitting in the chair beside me, smiling down at me and Alice and Luka were not in sight. I then wondered where they could have gone. I looked at the clock and saw that it was seven-thirty so it was still pretty early in the morning.

"Have you seen Alice and Luka?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Luka was gone when I woke up and I did not know that Alice was even in here last night." He said smiling at me then the door opened to reveal Luka covered in what looked like flower, and holding a tray. Alice then walked in holding a cup full of juice.

"We made you breakfast. It was my idea so don't let him take all the credit" Alice said, smiling at me with pride. I smiled back at her and Luka handed me a tray. It had three pancakes with fruit on them and eggs and bacon on the side. I smiled and started to eat it.

"This is amazing! Thank You so much I love this" I said and Alice smiled puffing her chest out. I giggled at that and she looked super happy.

"Of course it is amazing I made it after all," She said and I smiled at her even more happily. But of course, good times can never last as Rose ran into the room crying with Lexi, Rose and, Abby running in behind her.

"He was poisoned, it was not a heart attack, you were right I am going to find and kill whoever did this I swear" Rose yelled at me. She was full-on crying as she ran over to me. She fell to her knees realizing what she had said and how true it really was.
