The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 11

May's POV

I heard a noise coming into the woods toward me and I let out a light sigh. I was hoping that they had given up and left but I guess no one can be too optimistic. Thankfully the bleeding had finally stopped and I was just biding my time until Taffy could get back.

I looked down trying to see who was there and then I saw Taffy standing below my tree looking up at me smiling. I waved and carefully climbed down the tree and then she saw that I was only in a sports bra with my shirt ripped and tied around the wound on my side. She then helped me get to the car where I saw Luka.

"Hey are you ok Love," He said as he ran up to me and picked me up. I smiled at him and nodded. He then helped me sit in the back of the car and we headed home. I fell asleep in the car and when I woke up I was in my bed with a bandage on my wound and Lukas's arms holding me in a hug while he slept.

I smiled and got up, careful not to wake him up walking out of the room. I then walked down to the room that we used as a hospital room and went in quietly to not alert anyone of my presence. I saw Rose sitting next to Lil who was on a bed. There was another little girl that looked to be around five sittings there and she saw me.

I put my finger to my lips to say she she looked at me and smiled, turning back to Lily and Rose. I walked up behind Rose and put my hands over her eyes and Lily giggled along with the other girl that was sitting on the bed next to her.

"Guess who babe," I said and she smiled, giggling at me slightly. Lily fake glared at me and removed my hands from Rose's face.

"Just because you saved my life does not mean that I will not beat you up for flirting with my girlfriend," She said in a voice that had fake anger in it. We all smiled laughing at her and I sat down in the chair that was next to Roses.

"So who is this little Muscatine here?" I asked, pointing at the young girl on the bed next to Lily. The little girl smiled at me and held out her hand for me to shake.

"My name is Alice and I am Lily's little sister who might you be my fair lady?" Alice said, shaking my hand softly. I smiled at her and Lily and Rose were holding back their giggles so as not to embrace her too much.

"I am Princess May welcome to my castle," I said smiling at her as I stood up. I had to go talk to the others and thank Taffy for saving me. The young girl looked over at me with awe and I smiled at her. I then curtsied to the three of them leaving the room.

I walked down the hall and heard talking in one of the setting rooms. I smiled walking into the room. I saw my brother, father, Luna, Megan, Jack, and Taffy sitting in there and then I saw James. What the fuck was he doing here. Everyone else in the room looked annoyed at him and my brother and father looked like they wanted to yank his head off which is exactly how I felt.

"What the hell are you doing here and what do you want I had hoped to never see you again after your bitch of a fiance tried to kill me and kidnap someone that I view as family and I don't know about what you think and feel when it comes to family but for me, I like to think that they are important and I would protect my family with my life if I had to," I said glaring at him.

"I need to talk to you about my father. And it would be good if Rose was here to hear this too because it involves her" He said I nodded and sent a maid to get Rose from the hospital wing. I then told everyone else that they could leave and I would deal with this. They all nodded knowing not to argue because I was stubborn as hell when I wanted something.

"Oh and Taffy tells Luka that I had to have an important meeting and that is why I left. He is allowed to come in if he would like to," I said to Taffy and she nodded following everyone else. Just then Rose entered the room. She was in a pale pink dress that reached just above her ankle and heels.

"What happened that you must come here and talk to someone that never wants to see you again and for that matter two people that never want to see you again because you can add me to that list after your fiance almost made me lose what I loved the most," Rose said, looking directly at her older brother.

I mean if looks could kill he would be six feet under right now she was pissed and she had every right to be after what he did to her love. He seemed to get sad as if he was remembering something.

"Father died this morning. The doctors said that he had a heart attack" He said and Rose stood there frozen on the spot until she fell to her knees and started crying. I ran to her and held her tightly as she cried.

"Stay here and we will discuss this in a moment," I said, picking Rose up and walking out of the room. Taffy was in the hall waiting for me and when she saw me with Rose in my arms she looked at me confused. I just gave her a look that said I will tell you later. She nodded and I walked down the hall back to the hospital room.

"I can't do this May, I am not ready yet." She said to me crying in my arms. I looked at her sadly. She was too young to lose her father and take over the kingdom. She would need a lot of help and I was going to be there for her.

"Don't worry I am going to help you with everything and we will get through this I promise" I said as we reached the door to the hospital wing. I opened the door and Lily and Alice saw Rose crying in my arms and looked at me worried. I set Rose down next to Lily and she hugged her tight.

"He's gone Lily my dad is gone he died this morning and I didn't even get to say goodbye," Rose said and Lily held her tighter. I nodded at Lily and picked Alcie up, taking her out of the room and walking back toward where James was. I bumped into Luka on the way and he looked at Alice who seemed to be starting to fall asleep in my arms. I smiled down at her and asked Luka if he could take her to a room to sleep. He said sure and took her to one of the guest rooms. I then walked over to the door took a deep breath and walked into the room to talk to James. I walked over to him and sat across from him on one of the armchairs smiling at him sadly.

"I know that this is all sudden and we did not know that this was going to happen but she is too young to take the throne therefore it will go to me. I am telling you this because you are the next queen of this kingdom so you have to be there to approve the switch. Or our kingdom will not accept it." He said, looking at me. I could not believe that I had ever loved this man. He was not a good person.

"No you are not king she will be queen and I will stand by her side in that and you will leave my castle now," I said and he looked at me shocked. I smiled and left the room telling the guards to take him out. I then went back to my room and laid down knowing that tomorrow was going to be a long day and with that, I fell asleep.
