The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 9

(The day of the memorial party)

I woke up and walked over to my closet grabbing a white dress with purple lilacs on the skirt. I had made sure that everyone knew that this was not a wear-black event. I know that my mom would want something with flowers and bright colors like a celebration.

I then put on a machine headband and a pair of white heels. I walked downstairs where I was met by Taffy and Luna. Luna was wearing a light blue dress that had a cloud pattern on the skirt and she had her hair tied back in a loose braid with white hair clips in the braid. Taffy was wearing a baby pink dress that had black flowers on the skirt and she had light pink hair in pigtails with black bows. They both looked beautiful in their outfits and then there was a knock on the door.

I answered the door to meet with Jefferson, Megan, and Jack. They were all ready for the celebration as well. Jefferson and Jack were both in colored suits that I had told them to wear. Jack's was a light mint green to match Megan's dress which was mint green with white flowers on the skirt. And Jefferson was a blue that matched Luna's dress. Just then Luka and Matt walked in with suits that matched me and Taffy's dresses.

We all went and got into the two limos that my father had sent to get us and headed off to the celebration. When we got there someone opened the door for us and we all walked inside. I held Lukas' arm as we walked inside the main hall where the party was being held.

After about two hours it had become more of a party than a sad thing and we were celebrating our lost queen. I was dancing with Luka, finally happy about today and no longer sad when the doors burst open and Genitive walked in.

I ignored her not wanting to make a scene even though she had not been invited to the party and I did not want her there at all no matter what. I kept dancing until she started loudly laughing. I looked over at her and saw that she was looking at a portrait of my mother.

"That is the ugliest woman that I have ever seen I can not believe that you are all celebrating her." I walked over to her but just before I was able to smack her in the face Rose stepped in front of me and looked at the woman clearly mad.

"I was ignoring that you came to her uninvited because our hostess was not saying anything about it but I will not let you stand here and disrespect someone that is important to a friend of mine," Rose said looking at Genevive in the eyes she was angry. Genive reached out to hit Rose but before she could I caught her wrist and smacked her flat across the face.

"You are not allowed to lay a hand on the princes I do not care who the fuck you think you are bitch but you will leave here right now. You are not welcome here and you have no power here whatsoever." I said looking her right in the eyes mad as hell. She stared at me with a look of disbelief in her eyes as she tried to stand her ground. She then turned on her heel and walked out as quickly as she could.

I then stared at her and was not sure exactly what to do. I was tired and sure as hell did not want to sit there and have anyone else tell me how sorry they were for me so instead I said my goodbyes and walked up to my room and laid down on my bed and fell asleep.

Roses POV

I had noticed that the bitch Gennive had walked in and was looking around but I ignored it and kept talking with Lily and ignored her. But that is when she walked over to a portrait of the queen and started laughing. That was too much for me and I walked over and stopped in front of May right before she could smack the girl in the face.

"I was ignoring that you came in here uninvited because our hostess was not saying anything about it but I will not let you stand here and disrespect someone that is important to a friend of mine," I said and she went to smack me in the face but before she could May grabbed her wrist and smacked her then May told her off and she left.

After that May said goodbye and left for what I assumed was her room to rest. I felt so bad that that woman had ruined an important day. I was mad and knew that I needed to talk to my brother about it. I then walked over to where I had left Lily and I did not see her anywhere. I asked around and no one knew where she was until one woman came over and said this one man had been talking to her and then they left and it looked like she was not going willingly.

The women had been smart enough to take a picture in case it was important and it was in fact someone taking Lily. The worst part is that I recognized the face of the man that took Lily. It was the man that had been at the dinner yesterday that May had said was her abusive ex.

With that, I thanked the lady who took the picture and ran out of the hall toward where I knew May's room was. I ran past guards that called for me to stop until I got to her quarters. There were two guards at the door that looked at me confused. I would be confused looking at me two my hair was a mess and my face was wet with tears from crying as I ran through the castle.

"Princess Rose what are you doing here at this time the princess is sleeping currently," The first guard said after they both bowed to me in a sign of respect toward me and my rank above them.

"I need to speak to the princess right now it is very important. I do not care what others you are under to not let anyone in it is about a kidnapping" I said looking at the guards. They both glanced at each other clearly not sure what to do. They were both scared to disobey their princess but they could also see the urgency in my eyes.

Just then the doors opened and Luka looked at me and the guards confused at what was going on. But when he saw my tear-stained cheeks he opened the door wider and told me to come in. He then told the guards to get Taffy and the others and tell them to come in.

With that the guards left and I and Luka walked into the room, when we got in May saw me and ran over to me pulling me into a much-needed hug. After a couple of minutes, I pulled away and looked up at her finally having stopped crying.

"What is wrong Rose what happened? '' May said as the others entered the room. We all when to sit down on the couches that were off to the side. I sat next to May on the other side of her was Luka and then across from us were Jack and Megan on the chair next to them Taffy and Matt sat and lastly Jefferson and Luna sat on the last couch.

"He took Lily" I was able to say before I showed her the picture and started crying again. I could not believe that she was really gone I mean I knew there was a chance of me being heir to the throne when she was kidnapped but I did not really think that it would happen so soon.

They all looked at the photo and back at me worry written on all of their faces. Just then my phone pinged and I looked at the message it said to contact Gennive you had one hour. And then there was a link. Not thinking it through I clicked the link and looked at the live stream that played on the screen.

There on the screen was Lily she was tied to the ceiling by her wrist still in her dress there was a red mark on her face where she had clearly been slapped and her mascara had run down her cheeks from crying. I could not even move. I had no idea what to do. May take my phone out of my hand and made a sound that resembled a growl. For a second I had forgotten about all the shit that was going on and I giggled looking at her.

"May, did you just growl at my phone?'' I asked and she looked at me and smirked. Before she remembered what she was growling at and her face went serious.

"Don't worry Rose I am going to find this son of a bitch and get Lily back" She said and gave me a tight hug before everyone ran off to get changed and head down to the station to figure out the next step.
