The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 2

 I woke up in a hospital bed with an IV in my arm. What the hell is going on and who knocked me out on the way to my uber? I sat up and looked over at the nurse that was next to me she smiled and handed me a glass of water.

"Hello, do you think that you could maybe take this IV out and get me the discharge papers for my realize," I said and the lady looked nervous? She then glanced over to the couch and I followed her gaze to see none other than my bastard of a father.

"You are not allowed to leave without my permission science I am the legal guardian and you are too young to take care of yourself," He said smiling. I looked at him with a cooked eyebrow and chuckled a little bit. He had not seen me in six years.

He probably did not even know my age anymore and he still thought I was the little innocent girl that I was back when he left. The jokes on him after he left I had to get two part-time jobs and I started training to be the police. I was not a scared little girl anymore I am nineteen years old and I do not intend on backing down not this time.

"I am nineteen and legally an adult and if you could hand me my bag that is right there I will show you my ID," I said and the nurse visibly relaxed. She handed me the bag and I pulled out my ID and police badge. She looked at it and smiled.

"She is old enough to check herself out and she is a police officer sir so you can not keep her here longer than she wants to be," The nurse said and I saw my father turn pale. The nurse handed me the papers and a new pair of clothes since my other ones were ruined. I then left the room and walked out to the parking lot. He followed me out and stopped me in the parking lot.

"How could you do this I am your father you have no right to disrespect me," he said and I glared at him. How dare he I was not my father anymore.

"You have not been my father since you left me and mom with nothing and then did not even come to her funeral which oh yeah I had to plan without you and go to without you. You have no right to call me your daughter ever again." I said and he went to hit me but I grabbed his arm and pinned it behind his back.

"I am not the little girl that you left behind because I was not good enough. I have become stronger and will not be bullied by someone like you. So stay the hell away from me bitch" I said and pushed him away as I walked down the street.

Thankfully he had taken me to a hospital that was in the same town where I lived so I knew where I was. My phone was dead so I started walking back to the house. That is when I saw Jefferson's cop car and he was holding up a picture of me asking people if they had seen me. How long was I out, that he thought I went missing?

"Jefferson I am here" I called and he looked at me with astonished eyes. He ran over and hugged me tightly. I smiled up at him and looked at the picture he was holding of me.

"You could not have used a nicer picture of me I look so bad in that one," I said and we both laughed. We got in his car and started driving back toward the house when we heard something over the radio.

"We have a hostage situation in progress on 31st and pines at sunny daycare." It said and I felt my face go ashen. That was where Maddison's kids went when I could not watch them. "We are also getting a report that the princess is in the daycare being held, hostage. And that is how the lady got into the daycare by holding a gun to the princess she says that she will not let anyone go until May comes in.

"Chief and May are on the route now we will be there soon," Chief said into the radio. I thought for a second and realized that it was probably the lady that I had arrested at the restaurant. Even if she got bail it would take about a week to get bail offered.

"How long was I missing?" I asked and Jefferson looked at me puzzled. I then decided to tell him the whole story about what happened and when I was down he looked at me astonished.

"You were gone for just over a week. What are you thinking I see those gears turning in your head." He said and I smiled at him if this was who I thought it was I had a plan. I had dealt with people like her before and knew what to do.

"I think that the one holding the hostages is the woman that I arrested last week she got out on bail didn't she?" I said and he nodded realizing what I was saying.

"So are you planning to go in and provoke her until she messes up and you get what you want?" He asked and I nodded I knew precisely how to make sure that everyone made it out of there alive.
