The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 8

 Warning: Mention of blood and physical abuse

I woke up breathing heavy sweat pouring down my face I was terrified and even more so when I felt that someone was laying next to me on the bed they tried to pull me into a hug but I pushed them off the bed screaming.

Just then my bedroom door swung open and Luna came in looking at me screaming and the boy on the floor. Her eyes softened eminently and she walked over to me trying to calm down. After a minute my breathing had calmed down and I was now laying in Lukas's arms crying softly as he held me tight in his arms in a protective manner. I slowly fell back asleep and let him hold me tightly.

Lukas POV

I stared down at her worried her nightmares had been getting better lately and she had not had one in a while until now which worried me. She would never tell me what they were about but after what had happened today I think that I knew.

They were most likely about that bitch that had abused her. I could not believe that anyone would hurt my beautiful angel she was perfect and even if she had not been a princess she deserved to be treated as one no less.

I got up and walked down to the kitchen to get her some water for if she woke up again. I saw that the lights were all off again and Lun most have gone to bed. After getting her some water I walked back up to the room and put it on the nightstand.

I then laid back down in bed next to her and pulled her into my chest holding her close to me. I was so happy that she was with me because I was never going to let anyone hurt her ever again.

Mays POV

I was sitting on the couch with him watching a show when he told me to go get a drink for him out of the fridge. I nodded getting up and grabbing a coke out of the fridge and bringing it back to him. I handed it to him and then sat down as I looked back at the show that was playing on the TV.

"What is this I wanted water," Alex said pushing me onto the floor from my seat on the couch. I looked up at him towering over me wide-eyed. I was terrified he was a lot bigger and stronger than I was. He towered over me at 6'2 compared to my small frame and height of only 5'1 I was terrified of him he was tall with a muscular build while I was short and weak not working out as much as I should have.

He lifted me up by the front collar of my shirt and punched me in the face twice before dropping me to the ground. I felt blood in my mouth and he went to hit again when the phone rang he picked it up as I scooted back to the corner of the room as far as I could go.

I then decided that that was the last time that I was going to let him hurt me while he was on the phone I made a run for the back door and made it there before he noticed I had moved. As I opened the door and started to run I hear him cursing and yelling at me to come back.

I probably looked awful running down the street toward the police station. I had a busted lip and I thought that my nose was broken. I definitely had a bruise on my neck from where he had almost choked me to death earlier when I had brought him the wrong food. I was also barefoot I had not had time to get my shoes and I ran so fast I did not even look back scared to see he was following me.

When I finally made it the two blocks to the police state I stumbled in and everyone looked at me. They all seemed shocked I mean I would be two if I was in their position I knew all of them and I had just walked into the police station bloody after being gone for three days.

Jefferson the police chief came out and saw me he quickly called the ambulance and asked me what happened. I told him about how my boyfriend of two years had taken me back to his place and kept me there for three days and it was fine at first but then he got angry again and began to hit me.

The police had found Axel and took him into custody he had gotten two years with a chance of parole. After that, I decided to go into the police academy. They thought that I was too young at first being only 16. They let me try out and I passed with flying colors. I had dropped out of school and gone into full-time training.

I graduated at 18 and started working at the station. I had not to hear anything about Axel but I had not even thought about the fact that he might be out now. But I always thought that it would not be a problem because I had trained and I was stronger now and could take care of myself.

I woke up realizing that I was strong and I should not let him affect me anymore because he was not going ot be able to get to me. The only thing that concerned me was that this time it was not just a night mear it was a flashback.

The worst part about getting out and going to the police was that I had lived two years in constant fear until I graduated from the police academy. I would never let him get to me again I had promised myself that day that I would never let anyone hurt me again fiscally. And then when James broke my heart I decided to never show anyone that they got to me. But when I meet Luka that all changed he was the love of my life and I knew he would never leave me alone.
