The Not So Perfect Fairytale

Chapter 13

 We got to the castle and when we first went inside we were greeted by Alice running over and jumping into my arms. I looked down at her wondering what the hell was happening. At first, I thought that she was crying but then I realized that they were not tears she was laughing. Just then Lily and Rose ran into the room laughing at her.

"Help me May May they are chasing me," Alice said smiling at me brightly. I smiled back at her and pulled her behind my back getting in a fighting pose.

"Don't worry Allie I got you" I said smiling at her. Out of nowhere Lily Alice and Rose all jumped onto me and we were all on the floor in one big pile as Lexi and Abby walked into the door. They looked at us and laughed. That is when Rose noticed them and sprang to her feet, hugging them.

Lily stood up and nicely stood by Rose's side when she was done hugging and I picked Alice up. Rose and Lily both smiled at me slightly. I loved the three of them like little sisters even if I had only known Lily and Alice for a small amount of time I loved them a lot.

"So this is your princess charming," Lexi said to Rose smiling and Lily blushed and tried to hide behind Rose. I smelled the two of them and then Alice yawned and I looked at her smiling softly.

"Have you not had your nap today Alice?" I said and Lily nodded at me. She then mouthed 'she would not let us put her down' I smiled at that and looked at Alice who looked like she would fall asleep right there and then.

"No, I don't need a nap. I am a big girl, I am almost six" She said and I smiled at her. All the others in the room were awed at her cuteness. Looked over at Luka and had an idea.

"Luka, can you grab a fairytale book from the library real quick and bring it to my room," I said softly and Alice seemed interested in this.

"Will you read to me May May?" Alice said softly clearly on the verge of sleep. I smiled down at her and my plan was working perfectly.

"Sure but only if you agree to take a nap afterward," I said and she smiled at me nodding. We then said goodbye to the girls and I walked back to my room with Alice on my hip, her head on my shoulder. When we got to the room I set her down on the bed and Luka handed me the book. I opened it to the page with the princess and the frog and then she smiled up at me as I started reading.

Not two pages in she started dozing off. By the time I had finished the story, she was sound asleep so I and Luka left the room. When we got into the hallway Luka pulled me into a kiss. I smiled up at him when we broke apart, not sure why he had kissed me so suddenly, not that I minded all that much.

"I love that you are so good with kids and I can not wait to start a family with you," He said as he started to get down on one knee. I could not believe that this was happening right now. He pulled a box out from his pocket and opened it revealing a silver ring with a beautiful green emerald that matched his eyes. He knew that it was my favorite gem and I was so excited.

"May Rennie Castle, Would you do me the greatest honor of becoming my wife?" he said and I smiled down at him with tears of joy in my eyes.

"Yes, YES a hundred times YES of course I will marry you," I said smiling at him as he put the band on my finger. I looked at it and realized I was engaged. I then grabbed his hand and ran into the dining room where everyone else was. I ran in yelling I am engaged. Everyone looked at me astonished and Rose, Taffy, and Lily all ran over looking at my hand. When they saw the ring they all jumped with me in joy. I could not believe that I was engaged.

"Yes, we are going to throw you the best wedding in the entire world. I will make sure that everything goes well and Oh my god someone has to call Luna and Jack and Megan so that they can come over and we can start talking all about what we will do" As taffy started ranting I started to see black dots in my vision and something was feeling off. I then felt myself sway and Luka caught me. I then passed out in his arms and heard shouting as it all went dark.

Lukas POV

I was so excited that she said yes. We were in the kitchen with everyone else and she was smiling when Taffy started talking about the wedding plans. Then I noticed that she started to sway and I grabbed her calling her name as she passed out. That is when I noticed something that was on her neck. It was a dart; it looked like someone had shot something into her.

I started to panic as someone took her and looked at the dart then people started talking and I just sat there unable to move as she was rushed to the hospital wing of the castle. I was so worried I had just got her that I was not ready to lose her yet.

Taffy and Matt led me to the hospital room where she was lying on a bed with an IV in her arm that had water and some purple fluid going into her arm. What was that was she hurt badly what was in that dart?

"What happened to her, what was in that dart and who the hell did this?" I said, looking at her nervously. Then the doctor looked at us with a small smile. The doctor was an older woman, maybe in her early fifties she had a kind face and she was smiling at me.

"She will be fine, don't worry about it too much. She was hit with some poison but we had the antidote on hand and she will be found in a couple of hours I promise" The woman said smiling and leaving the room. I let out a breath that I was not aware that I was holding in and smiled down at my soon-to-be wife.

I sat down in a chair next to her bed and held her hand as Taffy and the others left the room leaving us alone. I smiled at her glad that there was nothing really wrong with her. She was going to be ok. I was so happy I laid my head on her chest and heard her heartbeat and smiled slowly falling asleep to the sound of her heartbeat.
