At Mercyhurst Ice Center this weekend, the Colgate Raiders open the season against the Mercyhurst Lakers in Erie this weekend. With 14:44 left in the first period, Hunter Racine scored his first goal of the season, on the power play to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 3:59 left in the first period, Evan Peterson scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0 Raiders. Charlie Finn and Brandon Wildung matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, 2-0 Hamiltonians heading to the second period. With 14:45 left in the second period, Derek Freeman scored his first goal of the season to make it 3-0 Colgate. With 7:46 left in the second period, Derek Barach scored to make it 3-1 Raiders. With 5:47 left in the second period, Tylor Spink scored his first goal of the season, on the power play to make it 4-1 Hamiltonians. With 2:54 left in the second period, Michael Verboom scored to make it 4-2 Colgate. Finn and Wildung matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, 4-2 Raiders heading to the second intermission dressing rooms. With 2:22 left in the third period, Hunter Racine scored his second goal of the season, into an empty net to make it 5-2 Colgate! Charlie Finn finished off the Lakers and Colgate opens the season with a 5-2 win! Colgate improved to 1-0-0 on the season!
