Starr Rink was a phenomenal place to watch a college hockey game and it's one of the reasons why I'm a Colgate fan to this day. This particular season hurt me in different ways but more than usual when my Raiders lose, this time we were losing a longtime best friend to Colgate fans young and old. Starr Rink was a temple and now it's being used for something not to spoken of on this wattpad account. What happened to Starr Rink was and still is a tragedy and I've mourned the loss of Starr Rink for years now.
I'm not quite sure what I expected out of writing this story. I thought I'd be letting go of Starr Rink but now I feel more attached than ever. This rink was like home to me because I felt safe to be me at this place that the Colgate men's hockey team no longer calls home. They might have built a new arena but they'll never hold a candle to what Starr Rink meant to the Central New York community as a whole.
But, I'll be an optimist. I think Colgate will do great things at Class Of 1965 Arena which happens to be the main setting in the next book of this series. While the era of Starr Rink has come to an end, it's important to appreciate the majesty that was and still is Colgate hockey because the team lives on at the new arena. The first season of Class Of 1965 Arena is up next and I hope to see you there! Go Raiders!!
