Starr Rink meant the world to me as a child it just felt like home. Starr Rink was a place where I felt free to express myself as a proud Colgate fan which I simply can't do I don't feel at Class Of 1965 Arena. Colgate has been awesome to my family and I for many years and I hope to enjoy many more games at Colgate University. But back to Starr Rink, Starr Rink was and still is a temple of college hockey because it was a foundation for kids in Central New York to pursue the game of hockey like I did when I was a kid.
Starr Rink was like a grandfather to me in a sense where I learned about myself as not only a fan but as a person as well. Starr Rink taught me that your passion for something may be tested but stay strong in your passion and that rings large in my head as I write this. While passion for the game at Colgate has sort of ceases to exist at Colgate, it remains in my heart and soul as we continue the winning tradition of Colgate hockey. Starr Rink was a place to get together and cheer on the Colgate Raiders in a passionate manner without having to worry about offending someone who cheers for the opposing team because they were simply outnumbered at Starr Rink.
I'm writing this book because I want to celebrate my pride for Colgate Raiders hockey and with god as my witness, I will never stop cheering on the Colgate Raiders on and off the ice. Heading into this story, I felt sad about Starr Rink's closing but now, I just feel proud of both myself and Colgate for taking the next step towards greatness. Colgate University remains my adopted home and I can't wait to see more Colgate hockey in the current day! See you all in the mid-season review and of course, go Raiders!!!!!
